Wynn Resorts’ mobile sports betting product has secured entry into its eighth US state.
Wynn Resorts’ online gambling division, WynnBet, has secured market access in the state of Ohio for its online sports betting product.
WynnBet’s eighth state
WynnBet’s entry into Ohio gives the gambling operator a presence in a total of eight US states.
Wynn’s approval in the state of Ohio is still subject to license eligibility and availability, as well as the legalisation and regulatory clearance of sports wagering in the state.
The operator did not disclose details of the arrangement that allowed it to enter the state.
WynnBet in other states
Earlier this month, Wynn announced that it had managed to expand its presence into seven different states for sports betting.
WynnBet is currently live in New Jersey, Colorado, and Michigan. The operator has also secured market access into Indiana, Nevada, Massachusetts and Iowa. WynnBet has also submitted licence applications in Virginia and Tennessee
In an announcement, Wynn said: “Combined, the Company’s secured and prospective market access would position WynnBet to reach approximately two-thirds of the addressable online bettors in the United States.”
Wynn launches in Michigan
This news came last week, after Wynn launched its sports betting app in the state of Michigan.
The land-based operator launched in Michigan last week via an agreement with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Bettors in the state of Michigan can now legally bet on sports and play online casino games via the WynnBet mobile app from anywhere within the state.
Craig Billings, President of Wynn Resorts said: “We are excited to bring WynnBet and the renowned Wynn betting experience to Michigan, the first of many additional states we intend to enter in 2021. With its large and highly engaged community of sports and casino fans, we are confident that Michigan will become a meaningful market for us.”
