There are some big European nights to look forward to this week as teams battle it out for a place in the UEFA Champions League last 16 in the second legs of the knockout round play-offs.
Starting on Tuesday night and available to watch on Amazon Prime Video from 8pm, Bayern Munich will take a 2-1 lead into their second leg at the Allianz Arena with Celtic the visitors.
Moving on to Wednesday night at two 8pm kick-offs that will be covered on TNT Sports, Paris Saint-Germain hold a 3-0 lead over Brest going into their second leg at the Parc des Princes, while Manchester City trail Real Madrid 3-2 ahead of their heavyweight showdown at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Tip 1: Bayern Munich to win and both teams to score
Bayern Munich have never lost against Celtic and that record is unlikely to change when these sides meet at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.
The Bundesliga giants were deserved winners at Parkhead in the first leg and could have been out of sight in this tie if they had taken their chances.
Bayern have only kept one clean sheet in their last four home games, so Celtic might well be able to get on the scoresheet in this second leg.
However, the Hoops have a miserable record on the road in the Champions League, failing to win any of their last 12 away games in the competition.
With that in mind, a Bayern victory and both teams to get on the scoresheet gets the nod here.
Tip 2: PSG to win and over 3.5 total goals
Moving on to Wednesday’s action and another high-scoring encounter might well be on the cards when PSG host Brest at the Parc des Princes.
The 3-0 victory for the Parisians in the first-leg continued the trend of high-scoring games in this fixture.
Looking back at the last seven meetings between these sides in all competitions, no less than 30 goals have been scored.
Even with PSG having a comfortable cushion going into this second leg, manager Luis Enrique won’t want his players to take their foot off the gas and the hosts are good value to beat Brest with over 3.5 total goals at the Parc des Princes.
Tip 3: Manchester City to qualify, Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush over 0.5 shots on target
Manchester City will require their performance of the season to reach the last 16, as they trail Real Madrid 3-2 going into their second leg at the San Siro.
City should really be leading in this tie ahead of their trip to the Spanish capital, but two sloppy late goals conceded at the Etihad Stadium mean Pep Guardiola’s side trail going into Wednesday’s showdown at the Bernabeu.
The Citizens’ confidence will have been given a boost with an impressive 4-0 win over Newcastle United at the weekend, a game in which Omar Marmoush bagged a hat-trick.
Marmoush looks like a strong addition to the squad and he along with Erling Haaland should cause Real problems.
Los Blancos were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Osasuna at the weekend and City are at an attractive price to qualify for the last 16 in a game that sees Marmoush and Haaland both get a shot on target.
