Premier League Gameweek One Predictions

The Premier League returns this weekend and we at Compare.bet have taken a look at Gameweek one and picked out our three best bets for the action and combined them into a treble.

Everton to beat Brighton – 6/4

First up we’re siding with Everton to beat Brighton in their opening game of the Premier League season. Everton have made a few signings during this transfer window and has strengthened its squad in areas that it needs.

The opening day of the season is always carnage but I do feel like with Everton being at home this game, they’re a really solid price for a win at 6/4. The Toffees finished last season with a five game win streak at Goodison and if they play anything like they did in those games, they should have the tools to beat Brighton.

To add to this, Brighton were less than ideal when it came to away fixtures last season where they only managed to win one of their last 10 games on the road. 6/4 seems a good price for Everton to get an opening day win here.

Nottingham Forest to beat Bournemouth – 11/8

Next up we’re siding with Nottingham Forest to beat Bournemouth. On paper Nottingham Forest actually have a very decent squad and I think this season they could surprise a few people with how they perform.

Last season was all about survival in the Premier League for rest and this season they’ll be looking to stamp some authority on the league. I don’t think they’ll be a top half team but I expect them to perform quite well this season.

Their opening game is against Bournemouth and they have the home advantage coming into this one and from what we can see on past results, Bournemouth do not perform well on the road. They have lost four of their last five games away from home and they’ll be massively up against it here against Forest.

Ipswich or draw against Liverpool – 9/4

Our most risky selection comes in next, and sticking with the theme of backing sides at home, we’re siding with Ipswich double chance against Liverpool. This is obviously going to be a really tough game for Ipswich but given that it’s their first game in the Premier League and they’re at home, I think they’ll be really up for this one and will give it a good go.

Liverpool also are under their new manager Arne Slot for the first time. There’s a lot of uncertainty into how Liverpool are going to play under new management and fans are accustomed to the football that Jurgen Klopp has had them playing for years now. Liverpool have potential to be very shaky here and with that much uncertainty, it seems bold to price them as a 1/7 favourite.

I still think it’s a tall order for Ipswich to win this game but if they are to get at least a draw, it’s a great result and it’s certainly something possible. Ipswich are massively up for this one and Liverpool are still in a rebuilding process here, 9/4 for Ipswich to win or draw seems a great bet.

When we combine all these bets together we’re left with an 18/1 treble for Saturday’s games!
