Premier League Gameweek 20 Preview

Another round of Premier League fixtures take place this weekend, with ever-entertaining Tottenham hosting Newcastle in the opening contest.

Free-scoring Spurs should go on the attack again when the Magpies come to London, while champions Manchester City host West Ham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, before Arsenal head to Brighton for the tea-time fixture.

Arguably the biggest match of the weekend is the last one – league leaders Liverpool will be looking for three points against Manchester United at Anfield.

Tip 1: Bournemouth to beat Everton

The south coast has come alive in recent weeks, with Bournemouth thrilling their followers on a seven-match unbeaten run, and the Cherries can be expected to continue their rise up the table by beating Everton on Saturday.

Bournemouth can be backed at 8/11 to claim another three points at the Vitality Stadium. They have lost just two league games at home this season, conceding only seven goals at a ground which is becoming a fortress.

A 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford just before Christmas has injected a huge amount of confidence into the veins of the Cherries players.

Andoni Iraola’s men look set to overwhelm an Everton side which has scored only six times away from home in the league this season.

Everton have failed to score in seven of their last nine games. The Toffees are getting sucked into the relegation zone and manager Sean Dyche is under enormous pressure.

Tip 2: Fulham to beat Ipswich and both teams to score

Like Bournemouth, Fulham are on a seven-game unbeaten run and the Cottagers are still not getting the respect they deserve. They faced Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea in December, going undefeated against that illustrious trio.

The 9/4 about the Cottagers beating Ipswich on Sunday without keeping a clean sheet looks well worth an investment.

Fulham, despite riding high in the top half of the Premier League, have kept only one clean sheet at home this season.

Ipswich fans could not believe what they were seeing when their side beat Chelsea 2-0 at Portman Road on Monday.

The Tractor Boys remain likely to be relegated, but they are clearly not going to go down without a fight, and they can give their followers something to cheer at Craven Cottage.

Tip 3: Liverpool to win 7-0 v Manchester United

March 5th 2023 is a date etched in the memory of every Liverpool fan. That was when their team beat Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield, with Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah all getting on the scoresheet twice.

Liverpool won 3-0 at Old Trafford in September and Arne Slot’s side must be sensing the opportunity of humiliating their rivals in the return fixture on Sunday.

The Merseysiders can be backed at 80/1 to recreate the magic of 22 months ago and thrash United 7-0 again.

Given how poor United have been while they adjust to the methods of new manager Ruben Amorim, the visitors could be lambs to the slaughter at Liverpool.

Gakpo and Salah look set to terrorise the United defence again.
