Premier League Gameweek 13 Preview

Liverpool are now red-hot favourites to win the Premier League title this season as Arne Slot’s side continue to make stellar progress under his watch.

The Reds welcome champions Manchester City to Anfield on Sunday for a showdown that is eagerly anticipated and a home win would see Liverpool move 11 points clear of Pep Guardiola’s misfiring crew.

Brighton and Southampton get things going on Friday evening, while there is a London derby between West Ham and Arsenal on Saturday evening and another between Fulham and Tottenham on a busy start to Sunday before the focus switches to Anfield.

We’ve picked out our best bets in the Premier League this weekend.

Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich

The Nottingham Forest bubble, as it were, has burst in recent weeks after successive defeats against Newcastle and Arsenal. They conceded six goals in those losses, almost doubling the tally they had shipped in their opening 10 games this season (7).

A home assignment against Ipswich may appear optimal for the Tricky Trees to get back on the up, but Kieran McKenna’s side are not to be underestimated and odds-on for a home win looks short.

The Tractor Boys have scored seven goals in their last four games. Their tally of six draws is the highest in the Premier League and another stalemate could be incoming.

Tip: Draw @ 29/10

Wolves vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth took seven points from nine available in home games against Arsenal and Manchester City and a trip to Aston Villa as October leaned into November, but the Cherries have since been beaten by Brentford and Brighton.

#Wolves had a nightmare fixture list to start the season and boss Gary O’Neil had a challenge on his hands to survive it.

His team are now unbeaten in four and have scored 10 goals in that run, with the excellent Matheus Cunha responsible for four of those goals alongside three assists.

The 25-year-old Brazilian is playing some wonderful football of late and is worth backing to open the scoring when the Cherries visit Molineux.

Tip: Matheus Cunha to score first @ 11/2

West Ham vs Arsenal

The Hammers were excellent at Newcastle on Monday night, taking their goals well and leaving the Magpies very frustrated with a solid block to stop them getting back into the game.

Arsenal, meanwhile, thrashed Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League 24 hours later and will be on a high heading to east London.

The Gunners, though, are without a Premier League away win in their last four attempts, while Julen Lopetegui’s team have recovered from a slow start and are unbeaten in three at home.

West Ham have avoided defeat in five of the last eight meetings here and with their confidence growing they might do so again.

Tip: West Ham or Draw double chance @ 13/8

Liverpool vs Manchester City

Liverpool are favourites for this Anfield showdown and it is a landmark moment, being that it is the first time Man City have been outsiders in a Premier League fixture since the 2017/18 season.

That is testament to the sheer consistency and brilliance Guardiola has presided over at City, but their recent form is very worrying.

Spurs thumped them 4-0 last weekend and they somehow let slip a three-goal advantage against Feyenoord in midweek.

The Reds, meanwhile, were dispatching European champions Real Madrid 2-0 on Wednesday evening.

The wind is very much behind Slot’s team right now and Anfield will be rocking – they can establish an 11-point advantage over the champions.

Tip: Liverpool to win @ 11/10
