Tyson Vs Paul

Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul Preview

Mike Tyson returns to the ring at the age of 58 to take on Jake Paul in the biggest crossover fight ever to be staged

Of course, Iron Mike is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time and a former undisputed champion. YouTuber Paul, has been beating up aged MMA fighters, and while the Problem Child is 31 years Tyson’s junior, the 27-year-old may be heading for trouble at the AT&T Stadium on Saturday night.

There are two ways to look at how the fight between Tyson and Paul will play out when the pair get it on in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Iron Mike is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time and the Baddest Man on the Planet reigned as the undisputed big-hitting king from 1987 to 1990.

The Brooklyn brawler beat Larry Holmes, Frank Bruno and Michael Spinks to name a few in a title-laden career, but it was also the ferocious power and intimidating style of Kid Dynamite that lit up the sport. On that evidence there will only be one winner at the AT&T Stadium. However, Tyson is now 58 years old and the American has been retired from the sport since he lost to Kevin McBride in 2005.

The reversal to McBride followed a loss against Britain’s Danny Williams, and while Williams was a former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion, it was clear that Tyson’s peak was left way in the past in that pair of defeats.

The question is what can Tyson produce at this stage of his life? Well, Iron Mike certainly looked fit, in good condition and with some residual hand speed when taking on Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition bout in 2020.

That contest was four years ago, but that is likely to be the most accurate guide to what Tyson may produce in Texas this weekend and that level may prove too much for Paul.

The Problem Child has built his boxing career on beating smaller and aged MMA fighters. Wins over Tyron Woodley, Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva are pretty meaningless in terms of boxing form and the Ohio man was turned over by the one semi-credible opponent that he has faced.

Of course, Tommy Fury is more reality television star than top-level boxer, and it was a close bout between TNT and Paul, but the Problem Child was defeated and that’s a clear indication of the 27-year-old’s limitations.

Clearly, there is a chance that has to be taken on a retired fighter at the age of 58 returning to the ring, but Tyson is a 9/4 chance to beat Paul in Texas and that offer is big enough to roll the dice.
