Ruben Amorim has made a solid start since taking charge of Manchester United, registering two wins and a draw, but he faces the biggest challenge of his early tenure when his side visit Arsenal on Wednesday.
This clash kicks off at 8:15pm at the Emirates on December 4th and is being shown live on Amazon Prime.
Odegaard return has been key
Arsenal endured something of an injury crisis earlier in the season and their biggest miss was captain Martin Odegaard, who is now fully fit and has been integral to the recent upturn in fortunes.
After a three-game winless run in all competitions in November, Arsenal have returned from the latest international break firing on all cylinders.
The Gunners have defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0 and West Ham United 5-2 in the league either side of a 5-1 thrashing of Sporting in the Champions League.
Mikel Arteta’s side now face a United side that drew their first game under Ruben Amorim 1-1 away against Ipswich before recording back-to-back home wins against Bodo/Glimt (3-2) in the Europa League and Everton (4-0) in the top flight.
There have been positives for the Red Devils and they will be hoping to end a run of three successive defeats against Arsenal, who triumphed 3-1 the last time United came to the Emirates.
Tip 1: Arsenal to win and both teams to score @ 2/1 with bet365
Arsenal’s success in recent years is built on a foundation of solid form at the Emirates and they remain unbeaten at home this season, winning seven and drawing two of their nine assignments.
The Gunners will feel confident of chalking up another victory against a United side that have triumphed just once on the road this season, that victory coming at rock-bottom Southampton in September.
Amorim will be without Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez, who are both suspended after accumulating five yellow cards, while Leny Yoro and Victor Lindelof are still sidelined.
Five of the last six competitive meetings between these two sides have seen the home team win in which both have found the net and that is the pick once again in this clash.
United have netted eight times under Amorim and could continue that scoring streak here, albeit in a losing cause.
Tip 2: Oleksandr Zinchenko to be booked first @ 20/1
Arsenal have some defensive selection issues ahead of this contest, with Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu ruled out and doubts over the fitness of Gabriel.
This could present a starting opportunity for Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has been limited to just eight appearances in all competitions this season.
Ukrainian star Zinchenko could be a little rusty for this encounter, if brought into the fold, and he could have the likes of in-form Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo running at him.
While Zinchenko to be booked at any time appeals at 9/2, there looks to be value in backing him to be shown the first card at 20/1.
