LEC Spring Split – Fnatic vs BDS

The LEC Spring split is almost at its final stage but before we get there we have to decide who will face G2 in the final which will be the winner of this game, Fnatic vs BDS. The odds imply this one will be very close with Fnatic being the marginal favourites at around the 4/7 mark.

We’ve previewed the highly anticipated LEC match and put together our two best bets for the BO5 series below.

Fnatic come into this one as the favourites and whilst their performances have been fairly shaky recently, they have proved they are more than capable of beating anyone in the league. That said, one of the few teams they failed to beat this split was BDS in a game which was incredibly one-sided to the French organisation.

BDS have proved doubters wrong yet again and have managed to reach this far in the knockout stages despite a rough start to the split. The most crucial aspect of this matchup will be that this is best of five game series meaning the one game upsets are less likely to happen as they’ll have to do it convincingly over a series of games. With MSI spots on the line this is sure to be a great watch.

Fnatic 1-5 map handicap

I still favour Fnatic to win this matchup. Overall they have been much more consistent over this split and they’ve managed to secure wins over the top teams. Their game against G2 was a prime example as to what this team is capable of. They absolutely dismantled a team that ran this region in one of the most convincing games of the season for any team.

Given how close I think this game is, I still fancy BDS to take a map from Fnatic but ultimately I do think Fnatic have the experience and player quality to win this whole series. That being said, I don’t think it will be easy.

As we saw in Fnatic’s last series, they dropped the first map but went on to win every other map in their series against Vitality. I do think BDS are going to win a map here and if they are to do so, I think that will be the only map that they win. BDS have won a map in all three of their last series, more importantly, they won against G2 who are by far the best team in the league. They still ultimately went on to lose the series which is what I think will happen here.

Backing -1.5 covers us in case Fnatic do stomp them 3-0 which is also a possibility. Fnatic are favourites for a reason here and I expect them to win fairly comfortably.

Fnatic to win 3-1

This next bet is not much different from the first one. We’ll still be siding with Fnatic to win this series but again by dropping a map. Fnatic have been slow starters recently dropping their first map against Heretics and then in their first BO5 of the split, they dropped the first map against Vitality and went on to win the series flawlessly.

I can see the same happening again, Fnatic are starting off slow at the moment but they are the better team by far. I can see them dropping the first map and then going on to win the series comfortably after. Backing the correct score of 3-1 also gives us some leeway, they can drop any of the first four maps and still win. In my opinion 11/4 is a great bet.
