Sam Hartman Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Following his transfer from Wake Forest, Hartman has thrown as many touchdowns as incompletions at Notre Dame, leading 11 touchdown drives in 12 offensive possessions. Hartman threw more picks against NC State than any other team in his Wake Forest days, but so far this Irish team has schemed to his strengths. Look for Notre Dame to dink and dunk their way down the field rather than through explosive plays.
Shaduer Sanders Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns
It was a dream start for Coach Deion Sanders and his son Shaduer at TCU. The Buffaloes went blow for blow in the fourth quarter and ended up winning the game with a score late on with a fourth-down conversion. Sanders threw for five touchdowns and set a school record of 510 passing yards in his debut, whilst Travis Hunter excelled on both sides of the ball and instantly put his name into Heisman contention. Whilst Nebraska’s defence should put up more of a fight than TCU’s, expect another big showing from Coach Prime and his quarterback in their home debut.
Iowa at Iowa State Total Points Under 36.5
Iowa has had one of the most anaemic offences in college football over the past couple of years, whilst their defence has been stellar. Iowa State also boasts a stingy defence whilst lacking offensive firepower. Points are often at a premium when these two meet and last year’s contest saw just 17 total points scored. Expect turnovers and sputtering offences whilst the defence makes big plays.
Jalen Milroe 1+ Rushing Touchdowns
Saturday evening is the first real test for this Alabama team and Jalen Milroe. The redshirt sophomore has the unenviable task of replacing NFL first overall pick Bryce Young at quarterback for the Crimson Tide. Whilst Milroe and Alabama saw some success through the air during their Week 1 exhibition against Middle Tennessee, expect the Crimson Tide to scheme more running plays to keep the Texas defence honest. If Milroe can get to the edge, he’ll be a problem for the Longhorns, who will have a tough task keeping him in the pocket.
