Champions League Quarter-Final Second-Legs Preview

The second leg of the four Champions League quarter-finals take place across Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

The standout clash comes on Wednesday evening when Real Madrid look to overturn a three-goal deficit against Arsenal at the Bernabeu (kick-off 8pm, live on TNT Sports 1).

Aston Villa face a similar task on Tuesday, when Unai Emery’s men face Paris Saint-Germain, having lost 3-1 in the French capital last week

Real out to make history

The holders look to be on the brink of heading out of the tournament, after a 3-0 defeat at the Emirates last week.

Real will feel though that they are still capable of turning the tie around, even if it means creating history on Wednesday night.

The Spanish giants have never overturned a three-goal deficit in Europe’s top club competition, but they have overturned two-goal margins on more occasions than anyone else.

After that shock result at the Emirates, Barcelona are now the favourites to lift the trophy and head into Tuesday’s second leg at Borussia Dortmund with a 4-0 lead.

The tightest of the four quarter-finals is the Inter Milan v Bayern Munich clash, with the Serie A leaders holding a 2-1 advantage after their success at the Allianz Arena.

Tip 1: Aston Villa v PSG – Both Teams to Score @ 8/15

There were four in last week’s clash at the Parc des Princes and there looks like being more goals when Villa and PSG meet on Tuesday night.

The French outfit have already won their domestic league and are looking for a second Premier League scalp, having eliminated Liverpool in the last round.

PSG registered 29 shots in the first leg and head into the second leg having won each of their last 16 away games in all competitions.

Nine of those matches have seen over 3.5 goals, while the hosts have found the net in each of their last 15 matches at Villa Park.

Tip 2: Kylian Mbappe – First Goalscorer @ 7/2

Nobody has had more shots in this season’s Champions League than Kylian Mbappe, with 27 attempts on goal to date.

If Real are to pull off an unlikely turnaround, their big-name players will have to deliver and this could be a night when Mbappe makes himself a Los Blancos hero.

The French superstar heads into Wednesday’s clash having been sent-off for a rash tackle in the weekend La Liga win over Alaves.

He might not have hit the heights expected since his switch from PSG, but Mbappe still has 22 goals to his name.

Seven of those goals have come in the Champions League, including four goals over the two legs against Manchester City.

Tip 3: Inter Milan 1-0 Correct Score @ 10/1

Despite having reached the final two years ago, Inter Milan have gone under the radar heading into the quarter-finals, but they have a great chance to make the last four.

Simone Inzaghi’s men scored a dramatic late goal to claim a win in Munich last week and now return to the San Siro, which has been a fortress for them this term.

The Milan giants have lost just once on home soil since October and are currently on a nine-game winning streak at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter have already kept eight clean sheets in Europe this term, including against the likes of Arsenal, Monaco and Atletico Madrid, so are sure to make life tough for Bayern’s attacking players.
