Betfred is preparing to launch its first-ever US sportsbook in Iowa this week.
Today, Betfred USA announced it will hold the grand opening for its land-based sportsbook at Grand Falls Casino & Golf Resort in Larchwood, Iowa on Thursday 30 January.
Betfred’s online and mobile sports betting platform is set to launch in Iowa in the coming weeks, allowing Iowans to wager from anywhere within the state with Betfred, once they register an account with the sportsbook.
Bryan Bennett, COO of Betfred USA Sports, said: “We’re very proud of our partnership with Elite Casino Resorts to bring a Las Vegas quality sportsbook to Grand Falls Casino and sports bettors in Sioux Falls, Northwest Iowa and SW Minnesota. Grand Falls already provides a fantastic gaming and resort experience to its patrons and we look forward to adding to that with the Betfred Sportsbook.”
The Betfred sportsbook at Grand Falls is 3,500 square foot in size and has 80 screens, 10 recliners, 22 lounging chairs, two reservable VIP areas, five high top tables and a full bar and food service.
Sharon Haselhoff, General Manager of Grand Falls, said: “We are thrilled and excited to work together with Betfred USA Sports who brings decades of retail and online expertise to our region. Grand Falls always strives on being a one-of-a-kind destination and we believe the sportsbook experience will be like no other in the Midwest.”
Betfred in the USA
The launch of Betfred’s sportsbook in Iowa will mark the operators’ first sportsbook launch in the US. In July 2019, Betfred marked its entrance into the US through a partnership with the Elite Casino Resort-owned Grand Falls Casino in Iowa.
Outside of Iowa, Betfred is hoping to make a mark in several states, including Pennsylvania and Colorado. In Pennsylvania, Betfred will offer sports betting to residents through a partnership with Wind Creek Bethlehem, which is owned and operated by the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. This tribal group also owns and operates gambling venues in Florida and Alabama.
Last week, Betfred announced a partnership with the Saratoga Casino Black Hawk to offer sports betting in the state of Colorado. The state of Colorado is one of the latest states to legalize and approve sports wagering. The Centennial State narrowly legalized sports betting in November 2019 after voters approved the sports betting measure through a referendum.
