The Cardinals have a winnable game on Sunday when they face off with the New York Giants.
Arizona is only a 4-point home underdog and the road is going to get much tougher the following three weeks.
I do like the Cardinals to pull off the upset on Sunday.
Additionally, here are three prop bets to consider after hitting on two of three last week.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley Over 19.5 Receiving Yards (-114 at FanDuel)
Barkley has averaged 30 receiving yards per game in his career, and after such a slow start last week the Giants will likely look to get their most dangerous skill player the ball in myriad ways.
While much of that will come on rushing attempts, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a screen or two as well as some receptions as the dump-off guy. If the Cardinals’ pass-rush stays hot, Barkley will be the emergency outlet for quarterback Daniel Jones.
Barkley is a special, special player with the ball in his hands and I think he will be able to evade enough Arizona defenders after the catch to go over on this prop bet.
Cardinals WR Hollywood Brown Over 43.5 Receiving Yards (-115 at BetMGM)
It’s true that Brown had only three catches for 28 yards in the opener, but it didn’t tell the full story.
He looked explosive despite a hamstring injury that had him questionable for the game, tallying a 20-plus-mph run on an end-around in the first half.
Brown is the best player on Arizona’s offense and the team is going to make a concerted effort to get the ball in his hands.
Even though Joshua Dobbs is a subpar quarterback, he should improve on a terrible showing in the opener. Look for Brown to use his rare speed to push past this receiving total.
Cardinals K Matt Prater Over 1.5 Field Goals Made (+115 at BetMGM)
I questioned Prater in the opener and got burned. Tip of the hat to you, Mr. Prater.
The fact is, this offense is terrible, which means plenty of stalling out in the red zone. This is an underdog play because if the Cardinals fall behind, they may have to eschew field goals in hopes of rallying.
But like I said at the top, I think Arizona can win this game. And if it is close, coach Jonathan Gannon will have no problem going to the big leg of Prater to get some points.
The conditions will be perfect inside State Farm Stadium and I expect Prater to boot at least two field goals after hitting three against the Commanders.
Prop Bets Record This Week: 2-1
Overall: 7-4
