Tom Brady Next Team Odds: Return to New England Patriots Among Top Options

The Buccaneers were eliminated from the playoffs on Monday night, and Tom Brady’s future has quickly become a topic of discussion.

DraftKings has unveiled next team odds for the Tampa Bay quarterback as he enters into unrestricted free agency.

The Buccaneers are the favorites to re-sign Brady, but at +200 odds, as the sportsbook believes other options are certainly legitimate. The Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and his former football team, the New England Patriots, lurk as potential destinations.

Here are the seven teams with odds of shorter than 10-to-1 to land Brady this offseason, per DraftKings on January 17:

  • Buccaneers +200
  • Raiders +250
  • 49ers +350
  • Patriots +750
  • Dolphins +750
  • Giants +900
  • Jets +900

Tampa is reportedly considering firing offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, and it’s unclear how that would affect Brady’s thinking. In a postgame interview, Brady certainly spoke as if he would be leaving the Buccaneers this offseason.

The Raiders are widely expected to part ways with Derek Carr this offseason, which would open the door for Brady to step in. Josh McDaniels is the coach in Las Vegas, and he was the offensive coordinator and/or quarterbacks coach in New England for much of Brady’s stint there.

The 49ers and Brady have long had flirtations since he’s from the Bay Area, but seventh-round rookie Brock Purdy has played so well since taking over that the prudent choice for the future would seemingly be to roll with the youngster. These odds seem too steep at the moment.

The relationship between Brady and New England coach Bill Belichick seemingly deteriorated at the end, but the Patriots have not found much success since their star quarterback left. Could there be a late-career reunion in hopes of one more Super Bowl? Mac Jones does not look like the long-term answer, which makes this a plausible scenario.

Brady had planned to join the Dolphins at one point, but the emergence of Tua Tagovailoa seemingly makes this a longshot. Tagovailoa has dealt with several concussions this year, but Miami believes he will be ready to play in 2023.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones is a free agent and the Jets have a void there as well, although the oddsmakers don’t think either spot makes a bunch of sense considering their odds.
