The wait is almost over for residents of Massachusetts.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is set to legalize online sports betting on Friday, March 10 at 10 a.m. local time.
The launch will come just in time for March Madness, which is set to begin the following Tuesday.
While retail sports betting has been available since January 31, this implementation will allow mobile operators of betting sites in Massachusetts to begin accepting wagers from residents.
The following mobile sportsbooks are expected to be in operation when online sports betting begins in Massachusetts on March 10:
- FanDuel
- DraftKings
- BetMGM
- Caesars
- WynnBET
- Barstool
- Betr
Betway, Fanatics and BallyBet will also receive licenses, but have said they will not be ready in time for launch.
As is the case with every state launch, there will be a multitude of promotional offers from the various operators of betting sites in Massachusetts.
Sports bettors can sign up with as many sportsbooks as desired to take advantage of the bonuses. It is a competitive space, which is why customers can find enticing deals upon signing up with the different companies.
Massachusetts law will allow wagering on college sports, but not those in-state. However, there is an exception when the schools are playing in national tournaments, of which the NCAA basketball tourneys qualify.
March Madness is one of the most wagered-on events of the year, so even though Massachusetts missed out on mobile bets for the 2023 Super Bowl, residents will have the ability to get in on the action when the college basketball tournaments tip off.
Bettors must be 21 years of age to wager online in Massachusetts.
