Aaron Rodgers’ playing future was in the spotlight during his appearance at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am over the weekend.
The Green Bay Packers quarterback was besieged by ‘Raiders’ chants while golfing, and a trade to Las Vegas could be more than just the hopeful pining of the fanbase.
The next team odds for Rodgers have moved drastically of late, and the Raiders are now the heavy favorites to land the star signal-caller.
Rodgers has -450 odds to take his first 2023 snap with the Raiders, according to DraftKings. A return to the Green Bay Packers is listed as a longshot at +600, as the sportsbook believes the long-term relationship between the pair is nearing its end.
There are only three teams with odds shorter than +1500 to have Rodgers under center next season:
- Raiders -450
- Jets +350
- Packers +600
Rodgers still has to decide to play in 2023, as he has mulled retirement. Tom Brady was favored to land with the Raiders earlier this offseason but he decided to hang them up.
Green Bay has Jordan Love waiting in the wings, and after a down season from Rodgers, it could be time to pull the trigger and switch quarterbacks.
All-Pro wideout Davante Adams, who paired with Rodgers as an electric duo in Green Bay, has been openly pining for a reunion in Las Vegas. The Raiders still have Derek Carr under contract but he is expected to be traded or released in the coming weeks.
Green Bay finished the 2022 season with a record of 8-9, falling a game short of the playoffs. The Raiders’ high hopes were dashed early on and they finished with a mark of 6-11.
Las Vegas boasts Adams, tight end Darren Waller and receiver Hunter Renfrow on offense, a skill trio that should pique Rodgers’ interest in joining the team in Sin City.
The second tier of candidates for Aaron Rodgers’ next team odds include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts and Carolina Panthers.
