2022 Week 5 Monday Night Football Betting: Mack Hollins Receiving Yards and Two Other Prop Bets For Chiefs-Raiders

The NFL week wraps up with an intriguing AFC West clash. The Kansas City Chiefs look like the class of the division, but an upset by the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday would tighten the race considerably.

Here are my three favorite prop bets after a 5-for-6 showing on Sunday.

Mack Hollins over 34.5 receiving yards (+100 at DraftKings)

I like this value for Hollins, the journeyman wide receiver who has found a home with the Raiders. He has 17 catches for 273 yards on the season, including a monster eight-catch, 158-yard performance against the Titans two weeks ago.

Hunter Renfrow is expected back in this one, and he will snare targets along with Davante Adams and Darren Waller. Even so, Hollins has played 87% of the snaps or more in every game this season and should be on the field plenty even with the return of Renfrow.

The Raiders are projected to throw the ball a bunch in this matchup, and the Chiefs are going to be focused on the other three aerial weapons. Hollins is averaging 16 yards per catch this season, so two sizable chunks could get him over this number, and three would have a great chance of doing so. At plus money, it’s an easy call.

Patrick Mahomes and Derek Carr under 556.5 passing yards (-130 at DraftKings)

The NFL has shifted to two-high, soft coverage, which is forcing quarterbacks like Mahomes and Carr to take the underneath options. It limits big plays and keeps the clock moving, which depresses the total passing yards numbers

This is a high total, and unless it turns into a shootout, it’s likely that at least one of the quarterbacks has a pedestrian game. Mahomes might go all Josh Allen on us and throw for 348 yards in a half, but the Raiders have to be scared of that, and should play back.

I think the quarterbacks will put up solid numbers in this contest, but I don’t think they will combine to reach 557 pass yards.

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco longest rush under 9.5 yards (-125 at BetMGM)

This is a pure usage play. The rookie seventh-round pick has looked dynamic early in his Kansas City tenure, and he could become a big part of the offense as the season moves along.

But he is still learning the ropes and has only played a total of 43 snaps in four games. Now, he’s gotten 28 carries in that timeframe and averaged 5.0 yards per carry, but there are other veteran running backs that the Chiefs may choose to rely on more in this primetime showdown.

Pacheco is an electric player but a 10-yard gain is a tall ask for any football player who may only get a handful of rushing attempts.
