It’s a double dip on Monday Night Football. The Buffalo Bills will look to keep their title as Super Bowl favorites against the Tennessee Titans, while the Minnesota Vikings or the Philadelphia Eagles will continue their ascension in the NFC.
Here are my three favorite prop bets for the games:
Eagles RB Miles Sanders over 56.5 rushing yards (-110)
Sanders might be the best running back in the NFL that no one talks about. He is averaging 5.1 yards per carry in his career and has never finished a season lower than 4.6. In the opener against Detroit, Sanders had 13 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown.
The numbers might not be quite that gaudy against the Vikings, but I still expect a big night. The Eagles are a handful on the ground, as Sanders combines with a great offensive line and a fleet-footed quarterback in Jalen Hurts to give defenses problems. I think this game will be close throughout, which will give Sanders ample carries to reach 57 rushing yards or more.
Treylon Burks over 29.5 receiving yards (-115)
The Titans are double-digit underdogs in this contest, and while they will want to give the ball to Derrick Henry as much as possible, game script could force them to the air in the second half. The rookie Burks only played 37% of the snaps in Week 1, but he caught three passes for 55 yards against the Giants.
He may already be Tennessee’s most explosive receiver, and quarterback Ryan Tannehill will likely look to get him the ball. Buffalo has a really good secondary, but Burks could get some easy yardage on screens and slants since he is a YAC specialist.
Ryan Tannehill over 209.5 passing yards (-110)
It feels like Tannehill has been cast aside as a decent quarterback. Yes, the Buffalo defense is great, and the pass-catching options are limited in Tennessee, but Tannehill has been effective the past few years and knows where to go with the ball against specific coverages.
He was 20-of-33 for 266 yards and two touchdowns last week against the Giants. This is a much tougher test, but the weather conditions are supposed to be fine, and this passing yardage total is achievable. Like with Burks, Tannehill could rack up some yards late as Tennessee attempts a comeback.
Prop bets record this week: 4-3
Overall: 7-6
