NBA Championship Winner – Latest Updates Impacting Odds & Favorites:
- June 12 – Denver can wrap up their first ever NBA Championship with a win tonight, as they are 3-1 up in the series. Golden State Warriors fans will tell you that having a 3-1 lead does not mean you’re definitely going to win, but it’s extremely likely that the Nuggets do win the series. The bookies have their implied probability at just a shade under 99%.
- June 7 – It’s 1-1 in the series after the first two games in Denver. We go to Miami tonight for the third game where both teams will be looking to begin a run of wins to take a stranglehold on the series. Despite it being so close, the bookmakers still have the Nuggets as huge favorites to win the series, with an implied probability of nearly 74%.
- June 1 – The finals are set and it’s the Miami Heat against the Denver Nuggets. Denver breezed by the Lakers with a 4-0 sweep and it looked as if the Heat would be heading the same way when they shot out to a 3-0 lead against the Celtics. They made it hard for themselves by losing the next three but snuck by in the seventh game. The Nuggets are heavy favorites to win their first NBA championship with the bookmakers, with an implied probability of over 80%.
- May 16 – If you enjoyed the bubble playoffs two years ago, then I’ve got some great news for you. It’s the exact same final four this time around. I’m sure the NBA would love the two most successful franchises in league history in the Celtics and Lakers face off in the finals, but they’ll have to get through the Heat and the Nuggets respectively first. It should be an excellent conference finals.
- May 9 – The conference semifinals have been great entertainment so far. The Lakers have shown their experience against the Warriors as they lead 3-1, the Celtics and 76ers are level at 2-2, the Heat lead the Knicks 3-1 and the Nuggets and the Suns are level at 2-2. It’s all to play for, and the tracker has the Celtics as favourites to win it all, while the Lakers have surged up the tracker into second place.
- May 2 – The first round of the playoffs is in the books and by far the biggest shock was the 1-seed Bucks getting beaten by Jimmy Butler’s 8-seed Heat. The Warriors and Lakers face off in a mouth-watering matchup in this round after Steph Curry willed his team to a series win over the Kings with a 50-point game seven. The Celtics are big favorites on the tracker to win it all, with the Nuggets in second place.
- February 10 – The trade deadline has passed, and so has the Nets championship window. Kyrie Irving was traded to the Mavericks earlier in the week and then as the deadline was approaching, the Woj bomb of Kevin Durant’s trade to the Phoenix Suns dropped. The Nets have fallen from 12% to 1.57% in implied probability overnight, while the Suns have risen from 5.54% to nearly 20%. Can the big three of Booker, Durant, and CP3 challenge the Celtics?
- January 31 – The Celtics still have the best record in the NBA and remain comfortably atop the odds tracker. The trade deadline on February 9th is rapidly approaching, which should have a huge impact on the season.
- January 18 – The season is at its midway point and we already have a clear favorite. The Celtics, led by MVP candidate Jayson Tatum are at the top of our tracker as it stands, but with the trade deadline approaching, there will be teams that have drastic shake-ups as they look to make a run at the playoffs.

- June 14 – The Golden State Warriors captured the crucial Game 5 showdown in California on Monday night, pulling ahead 3-2 in the series and to within one game of a championship. The latest title odds now have Golden State as a heavy favorite to win it all, as Boston would need to win at home in Game 6 and on the road in Game 7 to rally for the series victory. The Warriors’ championship odds are now the highest they have been this year and they can close things out in Boston, although the Celtics are expected to be favored to win that game.
- June 13 – The back-and-forth battle in the NBA Finals continues, as the Golden State Warriors are once again the title favorites following their Game 4 victory in Boston to even the series at 2. Steph Curry dominated that game and now Golden State heads home for a crucial Game 5 matchup on Monday. The Celtics are only slight underdogs despite no longer holding the home court advantage, oddsmakers have been impressed by their performance thus far. The winner of Game 5 will become huge favorites to claim the championship, and right not it seems like that game could go either way.
- June 9 – The Boston Celtics have overtaken the Golden State Warriors as the NBA championship favorites following their Game 3 victory in Boston. The Celtics have Game 4 at home and can really put a stranglehold on the series with a victory there. The Warriors are not out of it by any means, as a win next time out would knot things at two games apiece with two of the final three games at home. However, Golden State is now the underdog and will have an uphill battle to win the championship.
- June 6 – The Boston Celtics have seen a gigantic change in their championship odds over the past few months. They had just a 1.5% chance to win the title on Jan. 31 and are now neck-and-neck with the Golden State Warriors heading into Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Boston stormed back in the fourth quarter of Game 1 to strike first but Golden State knotted up the series on Sunday. The next two games will be in Boston, and those results will have a huge impact on who wins the championship. The oddsmakers truly feel like this series could go either way.
- May 30 – The NBA Finals are set, as the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics will face off for the championship. Boston started slowly this season but got hot down the stretch and is not a huge underdog to win the title. The Celtics’ title odds from the start of the season until now reflect how far they have come. The Warriors were always on the short list of championship favorites and are expected to earn another crown in the Finals. If Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Co. can win another title, it will further cement Golden State as one of the best dynasties in NBA history.
- May 23 – The Golden State Warriors are up 3-0 on the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals and are virtual locks to make the NBA Finals. They will be favored against whoever comes out of the East and as such are now odds-on favorites to claim the championship. The Miami Heat have the second-best odds as they lead the series against Boston 2-1, but the Celtics are right on their heels. The Dallas Mavericks would need a miracle to win four games in a row against Golden State and keep their season alive.
- May 19 – The Golden State Warriors beat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals and now have an implied probability north of 50% to win the NBA championship. The Miami Heat knocked off the Boston Celtics in Game 1 in the Eastern Conference to nearly pull even with Boston in title odds. Dallas is a longshot to claim the championship as it is a heavy underdog to win the series against Golden State and make the Finals.
- May 16 – The Phoenix Suns were upset by the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Semifinals, which has shifted the championship odds. The Golden State Warriors remain the favorites, and it is the Boston Celtics who have shot up, now boasting the second-best odds. The Miami Heat are solidly in the mix, and while Dallas’ odds have increased after beating Phoenix, the Mavs are still the biggest underdogs to win the championship.
- May 13 – The Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns have both had trouble closing out their Western Conference Semifinal series, but the oddsmakers still see them as the two teams most likely to win the championship. Golden State is the favorite heading into its Game 6 showdown with the Memphis Grizzlies, while Phoenix is second even though it has a Game 7 against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. The Miami Heat closed out their series against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. They currently have the third-best title odds, although the winner of the Milwaukee Bucks-Boston Celtics series will likely jump them once their series concludes.
- May 9 – The playoffs allow for some big swings in championship odds, and that was the case this week. The Golden State Warriors have surpassed the Phoenix Suns as the title favorites again, and the reasoning is two-fold. Golden State has taken a 2-1 lead on the Memphis Grizzlies in their Western Conference Semifinal, and Memphis star Ja Morant is likely out for Game 4. Additionally, the Suns are now deadlocked in their Western Conference Semifinal with the Dallas Mavericks heading into a pivotal Game 5. The Milwaukee Bucks have a 2-1 lead on the Boston Celtics in the East and they have the third-best odds to win the championship. The Miami Heat are dropping now that they have lost two in a row to the 76ers to tie their series at 2. The Celtics are right behind the Heat, as Philly still lags despite its recent hot streak and the return of Joel Embiid to the lineup. The Mavericks and Grizzlies are longshots to win the title.
- May 5 – The Phoenix Suns’ championship odds dropped earlier in the postseason when Devin Booker injured his hamstring, but there is renewed confidence in their ability to win the title. Booker looks 100 percent and the Suns cruised past the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday to take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference Semifinal series. The Golden State Warriors, meanwhile, lost Game 2 to the Memphis Grizzlies and have seen their odds drop. Golden State is still the team with the second-best odds but will need to beat Memphis to set up a Western Conference Finals showdown with Phoenix. The Miami Heat took a 2-0 series lead on the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday and now have the best odds among the Eastern Conference teams, followed by the Boston Celtics, who evened their series with the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday. Milwaukee still has decent championship odds, but the sportsbooks do not believe the 76ers or Grizzlies have much of a chance to win it all.
- May 3 – The Phoenix Suns breezed past the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of their Western Conference Semifinal, and now that star guard Devin Booker is healthy again, they have regained their status as championship favorites, albeit by the slightest of margins. The Golden State Warriors squeaked out Game 1 against the Memphis Grizzlies and are right on the Suns’ heels. The defending champion Milwaukee Bucks have the best odds in the East and the third-best overall, followed closely by the Miami Heat. The Boston Celtics have seen their odds drop after losing their Game 1 matchup with the Bucks by double-digits.
- April 28 – The Golden State Warriors closed out their first-round series against the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday and remain the NBA championship favorites. The Phoenix Suns used a crucial Game 5 victory over the Pelicans to re-take second place, as there is news of an imminent Devin Booker return to the lineup. The Boston Celtics have the third-best odds, right behind Phoenix, following their sweep of the Brooklyn Nets. The Miami Heat and the Milwaukee Bucks are also in the mix after impressive performances in the first round.
- April 25 – The Phoenix Suns have hit a bump in the road, as an injury to Devin Booker and a Game 4 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans has diminished their championship odds. Phoenix and New Orleans are tied at two games apiece heading into Game 5 on Tuesday. The Golden State Warriors are up 3-1 on the Denver Nuggets in their first-round series and have overtaken the Suns as the title favorites. The Boston Celtics now have slightly better championship odds than the Suns after winning the first three games of their series against the Brooklyn Nets. Brooklyn was the title favorite for much of the year but seems poised to leave the playoffs with a whimper.
- April 19 – The Phoenix Suns’ championship odds continue to increase after an easy Game 1 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. The Milwaukee Bucks have the second-best odds, while the Golden State Warriors have seen a big boost after an impressive start against the Denver Nuggets. The Boston Celtics now have the fourth-best odds as they are in position to knock off the Brooklyn Nets in their first-round series. The Nets were the heavy preseason favorites to win the championship but have never put it all together, and now have only a 7.3% chance to win the championship, according to the odds tracker.
- April 11 – The Phoenix Suns are entering the playoffs as the team to beat for the NBA championship. Their odds have steadily increased over the past several months while the Golden State Warriors are now facing an uphill battle to beat the Suns to claim the Western Conference and make the Finals. The Milwaukee Bucks have zoomed past the other contenders and will head into the postseason as the favorite to win the East. The Brooklyn Nets have been inconsistent all season and could have a tough first-round draw against the Boston Celtics. The Bucks and Suns met in last year’s Finals, where Milwaukee rallied from a 2-0 hole to claim the title. They have the best odds to meet once again for the 2021-22 championship.
- March 31st – The Phoenix Suns will be heading into the postseason as the clear-cut championship favorite as they continue to keep their foot on the gas. The Brooklyn Nets have the second-best title odds, but the Eastern Conference is muddled. The Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat are all in the mix. The Golden State Warriors have the second-best odds in the West but have steadily dropped in recent weeks. The Memphis Grizzlies have the second-best record in the NBA but only the eighth-best odds to win the NBA title.
- March 24th – The Phoenix Suns continue to thrive as the regular season nears its conclusion, and they are now the clear team to beat. The Golden State Warriors have dropped after star point guard Steph Curry suffered a foot injury that is likely to keep him out for an extended period. The Brooklyn Nets have the second-best odds to win the championship, followed by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Boston Celtics’ odds continue to increase as they are on a tear in recent weeks.
- March 16th – It took some time, but the Phoenix Suns are now the outright favorites to win the NBA championship. Phoenix has, by far and away, the NBA’s best record, and all the advanced stats favor the Suns in their quest for the title. The Golden State Warriors have the next-best odds, while the Brooklyn Nets are in third as they are starting to put everything together after a mostly-horrid season.
- February 28th – There was major NBA championship odds movement after the trading deadline but things have since calmed down. The Suns are still slight title favorites despite the injury to point guard Chris Paul. The Golden State Warriors are a close second, followed by the Brooklyn Nets. The Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers round out the top-five, while the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics are gaining steam.
- February 17th – The Phoenix Suns have taken over as the consensus NBA championship favorites for the first time this season. They have held the league’s best record for a long time, and the Brooklyn Nets’ trade of James Harden contributed to a major dip to their title odds. The Nets now have the third-best championship odds, behind the Suns and the Golden State Warriors. The defending champion Milwaukee Bucks are fourth, followed by Harden’s new team, the Philadelphia 76ers.
- February 1st – The Brooklyn Nets are still the NBA championship favorites, but they remain on a downward trend. The Phoenix Suns have won 10 consecutive games and are on the upswing, although the Golden State Warriors still have the best title odds in the Western Conference and the second-best overall. The Milwaukee Bucks continue to head in the right direction, while the Utah Jazz have taken a step back after a major skid of late.
- January 21st – The Phoenix Suns have the best record in the NBA but still sit with only the third-best odds to win the title. The Brooklyn Nets remain the title favorites, although their odds have been slowly decreasing since the preseason. The Golden State Warriors have the second-best odds, no doubt buoyed by the return of Klay Thompson and the emergence of younger players. The Suns are right ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks, who beat them in last year’s NBA Finals.
- January 4th – There have been a couple of big developments for the title favorites. The Brooklyn Nets now have star point guard Kyrie Irving back in the fold, albeit in a part-time role. The Golden State Warriors are welcoming back Klay Thompson from injury, making their team even more formidable. The Phoenix Suns have seen their title odds shoot up of late, as they have the second-best record in the NBA behind the Warriors. The Chicago Bulls have the best record in the East but have yet to make significant progress, as the oddsmakers remain skeptical of their title chances.
- December 15th – There is no return in sight for point guard Kyrie Irving, but even so, the Brooklyn Nets remain the clear title favorites as the class of the weaker Eastern Conference. The Golden State Warriors’ odds continue to creep up, and could further improve with the impending return of sharp-shooter Klay Thompson. The Phoenix Suns’ odds have also increased as they are jostling with Golden State for the NBA’s best record.
- December 1st – The Brooklyn Nets remain the clear favorites to win this year’s NBA title, but behind them there is fuzziness. The Los Angeles Lakers are only 12-11 on the year, and that slow start has dropped them behind the Golden State Warriors in championship odds. The Phoenix Suns dispatched Golden State for their 17th consecutive win on Tuesday and have seen their title odds increase. The Milwaukee Bucks, Utah Jazz and Miami Heat also remain top contenders.
- November 22nd – The Golden State Warriors have the best record in the NBA and have seen their title odds shoot up past the Milwaukee Bucks. Only the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers have better odds at this point. The Lakers’ championship odds continue to drop as they have started the season slowly while dealing with myriad injuries. Brooklyn remains the clear favorite despite the absence of star point guard Kyrie Irving.
- November 11th – The Brooklyn Nets have started the season 8-4 but star point guard Kyrie Irving has still not shown up. The duo of Kevin Durant and James Harden is enough to keep this team the championship favorite but the odds have dropped a bit. The Los Angeles Lakers are only 7-5 on the season and have also seen their odds decrease. Injuries have been an issue for the older roster. The Golden State Warriors are off to a hot start and could soon join the Nets and Lakers as the main favorites.
- September 29th – The Brooklyn Nets enter the season as the championship favorites, as they boast the talented trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving. The Los Angeles Lakers are the team to beat in the Western Conference, as Russell Westbrook has joined LeBron James and Anthony Davis in L.A. The defending champion Milwaukee Bucks have the third-best odds, while last year’s Western Conference winner, the Phoenix Suns, have the sixth-best odds to win it all.
