Compare.bet speaks with Push Gaming’s Fiona Hickey on their entry into the Ontario Market

Compare.bet spoke to Push Gaming’s Head of Sales, Fiona Hickey, about its market entry into Ontario and what players can expect from the leading slots developer. We examine what the future of the market entails for it as a studio and for the region as a whole.

Congratulations on your entry into the Ontario market! Some of our North American readers may not be familiar with the juggernaut that is Push Gaming, could you tell us about your brand?

Thanks for having me, it’s truly an exciting time for us as we enter the Ontario market and set about establishing our content in another new, exciting regulated market. Push Gaming is a slot provider that focuses on creating entertainment and this underpins all our releases, which are developed with a player-first ethos and a definite emphasis on fun.

We aim to deliver outstanding visuals, innovative features and big win potential along with providing as much enjoyment as possible along the way. This increases the longevity of our games; we have never been the type of provider to release a flash in the pan game, which is popular during release but quickly disappears into obscurity.

Many of our game’s player bases grow over time and I think that is a testament to not only the quality of the titles we release but also a true understanding of players’ wants and needs.

What games can slot enthusiasts look forward to playing from Push Gaming?

Some of our most notable and award-winning titles include Jammin Jars, Razor Shark, Fat Rabbit and Wild Swarm. They’ve all been hugely successful with our customers over the years and have pushed the boundaries of what players have come to expect when playing a slot.

Jammin Jars has walking multiplier wilds as part of its core gameplay whereas Razor Shark has mystery symbols and an ever-increasing multiplier within its free spins round. Fat Rabbit contains a growing wild symbol which can build to cover all reels and Wild Swarm has a fillable meter that awards a super bonus for players, increasing the winning potential offered.

While each of these titles are distinct and have become instant classics, they’re just a snapshot of the types of features players can look forward to experiencing going forward.

Push Gaming has just released another standout title, Fat Banker, could you tell us more about this release?

Our Fat series probably needs little introduction to most of your readers! But beginning with  Fat Rabbit, the series followed a theme of charming animation a good dose of humour and, of course, engaging gameplay. Fat Santa and then Fat Drac followed, taking us to where we are today with Fat Banker.

Our new installment in the Fat series is built around the free spins bonus that majors on the roaming wild symbol, so well received in Fat Rabbit and a key ingredient in its success. We’ve kept what players loved about the previous games in the series but built on that with new innovations too. We have added a bullion multiplier, silver safe symbols and the red and gold car features, along with fortune link.

Our Fat games are among our most popular so we felt we had to get the mix just right, keeping the loved elements that are tried and trusted while introducing an equal amount of new developments to keep things fresh. This is all wrapped up in trademark ‘Fat’ style with the animation, which this time round pays homage to the 1920’s Art Deco movement and lends itself perfectly to the theme.

How does Push Gaming feel about the potential of the burgeoning Ontario market?

Like any new regulated market entry, taking your brand and content there and rolling it out to operators and players is exciting for the business and for the industry – there’s a real buzz of optimism at the potential that exists as you continue to grow your player base in another region and we feel there’s much for us to achieve there.

We’re anticipating a great reaction to our titles as we’ve had elsewhere and while North American players have traditionally been used to land-based, Vegas-style play in their games, they’re slowly embracing the new wave of gaming that’s coming in from a host of new suppliers. Places like New Jersey have already seen players welcome the diversity in content that regulation brings and I expect similar from Ontario.

Where can players in Ontario go to play these games?

Following our full certification to the standards set by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario we are excited to get started. We have already launched with our first partner there and there’s many more to come.

Push games will be prevalent across the numerous partners that we have worked with in other markets and we’re extending those relationships in Ontario. We’ve hit the ground running and will be delivering updates in the coming weeks and months on where to play our high-quality titles first.
