Pros and cons

  • No wagering requirements – Any winnings from the welcome bonus can be cashed out with no playthrough needed.
  • Excellent range of casino games – Virgin Games truly has it all, from slots and bingo to poker and live dealer titles.
  • Fast payouts – Withdrawals are paid out within 24 hours, and will often land instantly once they’re processed by Virgin Games.
  • 24/7 support – Help is always at hand via live chat if you run into any issues.
  • Limited payment methods – You’re stuck with debit cards and Apple Pay for managing your bankroll at this bingo site.
  • Limited bingo variants – Most bingo at Virgin Games is 90-ball. While there’s still a great selection, fans of other formats may need to look elsewhere.

Software

Virgin Games uses the excellent Gamesys bingo software platform, offering players a range of high-quality variants across 13 individual rooms. The provider has built a fantastic reputation over the past several years, going from strength to strength since its 2001 inception with several industry-leading titles.

Gamesys is an EGR Awards multi-award winner (notably winning the 2020 Bingo Operator of the Year) and supplies many of our favourite bingo platforms, including Double Bubble Bingo and Heart Bingo.

Virgin Games also offers a few Gamesys-exclusive online slots like Double Bubble and a Virgin-branded Age of Olympus title. Beyond Gamesys, the operator’s games library is full of slots and live dealer options from Evolution, NetEnt, Big Time Gaming, and other critically-acclaimed software developers.

Bingo Rooms and Variations

Virgin Games customers have 13 real money bingo options to choose from, mainly spanning 90-ball variants. The Virgin Games collection features a versatile library, including plenty of beloved titles like Bubble Up Bingo and The Crystal Maze Bingo. Customers can access three free bingo rooms — Play Off Palace Weekly being our preferred option due to its £5,000 jackpot.

Despite the positives, we did have a few minor complaints regarding the Virgin Games bingo selection. While 90-ball bingo options are plentiful, there are limited numbers of alternative variants. Compared to Dragonfish platforms like Moon Bingo this is slightly disappointing, especially considering the lack of any Swedish or 52-ball choices.

That said, there’s still loads to choose from — here’s a closer look at each bingo title to give you a better idea of what you can enjoy at Virgin Games:

  • Superlinks – A 90-ball bingo variant with Super Jackpots that reach £20,000 on average and £1,500 House Prizes. A notable highlight is that the Super Jackpots are shared 50/50 between the overall winner and all other players. Tickets start from 10p.
  • The Clubhouse – 90-ball bingo with several enticing features, most notably a powerful progressive jackpot. Players can also enjoy ‘Powerbolts’, tiered jackpots that must be won by 10pm every day.
  • Bubble Up Bingo – This 10p-per-ticket, 90-ball game is quickly becoming a favourite at Gamesys and Anzo Group bingo platforms. Highlights include the Double Up Bonus (doubling your potential jackpot) and a Super 7 progressive jackpot.
  • Superlinks 75 – A 75-ball version of the popular Superlinks bingo room with two game modes: one with only Full House wins and the other also including individual line prizes. It’s playable from 10p per ticket and offers a Super Jackpot up to £5,000.
  • Bingo 80 – An 80-ball bingo game inspired by the arcades and technology of the 80s. It’s one of the cheapest Virgin Games offerings, with tickets starting at 1p. There’s also a Magic 80 progressive jackpot that only drops with Full House wins on ball 80.
  • The Special Cloud – This is a weekly 90-ball bingo game usually happening on Friday evenings. Players can enter from 2p a ticket and enjoy a guaranteed Full House prize alongside a progressive jackpot.
  • Session Bingo – Session Bingo is an innovative option available four times a day. Players buy a ticket bundle and enjoy a blend of 90-, 80-, and 75-ball variants.
  • Bingo Times – This summery beach-inspired bingo game offers a progressive jackpot for players who complete a full house in less than 42 calls. Tickets cost 10p per entry.
  • The Crystal Maze Bingo – A Gamesys-exclusive title modelled on the popular The Crystal Maze TV programme. It uses 90-ball rules and costs 5p per ticket, featuring a progressive jackpot that can regularly hit over £5,000.
  • The Suite – If you fancy a more elegant online bingo experience than normal, look no further. The Suite runs every five minutes using 90-ball rules, with tickets only costing 1p. The game has one of Virgin Games’ highest potential progressive jackpots.
  • Play Off Palace Daily/Weekly – Play Off Palace are free daily and weekly 90-ball bingo games. Look for the PP symbol on the other Virgin Games bingo games for your chance to win free entry tickets.
  • Mega Ball – An online bingo and live dealer hybrid designed by Evolution. Tickets cost 10p, and players can buy up to 200 before each game. Mega Ball is similar to 20-ball bingo with added multipliers and other unique features.

By and large, we’re delighted with the Virgin Games bingo selection. The operator is among the best platforms for 90-ball bingo, but players looking for other variants may need to look elsewhere.

Non-bingo games

Virgin Games blows most competitors out of the water when it comes to non-bingo options. This isn’t surprising, considering the platform is strongly geared towards online casino gameplay as a whole. The operator has most angles covered whether you’re looking for online slots, poker, classic table games, or live dealer casino games.

Online slots are the main attraction here, with a very comprehensive library packed full of quality titles from Big Time Gaming, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, and more. The operator has several exclusive slots like Anglin’ For Spin and a branded version of Gates of Olympus alongside Big Bass Bonanza, Rainbow Riches, and other industry favourites.

Virgin Games also has a seriously impressive live dealer section that goes above and beyond what almost all other bingo platforms can offer. On top of the standard live dealer titles you’d expect to see at any site with a live dealer section, Virgin Games sets itself apart from the likes of Double Bubble Bingo by providing rarer options like Funky Time Live and Snakes & Ladders Live. Players can access 76 live dealer games in total, including Bac Bo Live and other niche choices.

And the Virgin Games portfolio doesn’t stop there either. The operator is one of the industry’s most multi-faceted sites, with a dedicated online poker section rounding off the frankly ridiculous non-bingo games selection. Poker fans can access daily multi-table tournaments and free competitions alongside more unique options like Wild Seat Poker. Very few other bingo operators can offer poker, so this is a huge selling point.

Bingo Features

Virgin Games doesn’t offer all the bells and whistles found at other bingo sites — there’s no cash-out bingo here unfortunately. That said, there’s still plenty to keep you entertained. Here’s what you can look forward to.

Jackpot Bingo

For those looking to win big, Virgin Games features plenty of jackpot bingo. We were impressed to see a number of progressive jackpot bingo rooms with prizes running over £100,000!

Session Bingo

Session Bingo at Virgin Games lets players purchase a bundle of 15 tickets for games throughout the day, with jackpots starting from £2,500. Each game lasts an hour, but there’s no need to be present. A bit like playing the lottery, tickets are automatically marked off, with any winnings credited to your account without you having to lift a finger.

Scratchcards

Looking for a simple instant win game? Virgin Games includes a number of scratchcards to keep you entertained in between rounds of bingo.

Slingo

Bingo and slots — a match made in heaven? We think so, and so will you once you check out some of Virgin Games’ Slingo titles. There are more than 20 titles on offer here, including favourites like Book of Slingo and Deal or No Deal Slingo.

Cashier

Virgin Games doesn’t have the best selection of payment methods, with players only able to fund their accounts through Visa, Mastercard, and Apple Pay. This is slightly disappointing compared to other sites — Moon Bingo, for example, offers a much wider range of banking options including PayPal.

Nevertheless, as long as you can get over this initial stumbling block, the rest of the Virgin Games cashier section performs pretty well. We were really happy to find an option to set a deposit limit while making an initial payment, showcasing the operator’s commitment to responsible gambling.

Despite the limited withdrawal methods, we were also thoroughly impressed by the commitment to process payout requests in as fast as four hours for all payment methods.

Promotions

Virgin Games has a decent selection of ongoing promotions, although sadly few of these target the online bingo area of the site. Instead, most are catered towards slots fans. Here’s a round-up.

Game of the Month

Each month, pick one of four slots as your own personal ‘game of the month’, wager £30 on it, and you’ll get a chance to win a Box Bonanza game up to £100 each week.

Free Spins Pyramid

Every weekend there’s the opportunity to pick up some free spins — 10 when you wager £35, 15 when you wager £50, and 20 when you wager £65. Each spin is worth 10p.

Daily Prize Drops and Mega Tournaments

Roulette fans rejoice — when you spin 20p on Lucky 6 Roulette, there’s a chance to pick up bonus prizes from £5 to £10,000 in this exciting daily tournament.

Slot Masters Tournament

All Gamesys bingo sites run the free-to-play Slots Masters Tournament, giving players a chance to win £50 in cash without having to spend a dime.

Penny Poker Tournaments

If you’re sharp with your cards, give one of Virgin Games’ thrilling poker tournaments a try. It costs just one penny to enter, and prizes can run up to £3,000.

Drops & Wins

Pragmatic Play’s fantastic Drops & Wins format is back, requiring just 50p to be wagered on eligible slots to get you on the leaderboard. The prize pool is a staggering £2 million across all participating sites!

Rewards and Loyalty Programme

In terms of loyalty schemes, Virgin Games has a couple of offers in the roster. One is a refer-a-friend bonus, where you’ll get rewards when your friends sign up and spend a certain amount at the site. You can also earn points through the Very Virgin rewards club.

Community

Bingo wouldn’t be nearly as enjoyable without the social side — in an attempt to replicate the buzz of a traditional bingo hall, Virgin Games offers a chat room feature where players can connect with each other. Additionally, you can participate in engaging chat room activities organised by the hosts, including skill games, quizzes, and random ticket giveaways.

Virgin Games Responsible Gambling Features

As mandated by the UK Gambling Commission, Virgin Games provides a variety of responsible gambling features to help you keep safe when using the site. Of course, these measures are only as water-tight as you make them — be sure to set a realistic budget before you gamble and don’t hesitate to seek help if you feel like it’s having a negative impact on you or those around you.

Here’s what Virgin Games provides to support responsible gambling:

  • Deposit Limits – We suggest setting these up immediately upon registration. These limits restrict the amount you can deposit over a specified time frame, such as £100 per month.
  • Session Reminders – These notifications appear at predetermined intervals to inform you of how long you’ve been playing, prompting you to take breaks as needed.
  • Cool Offs – If you need a short break from gambling, you can temporarily block access to your Double Bubble account for periods ranging from 24 hours to six weeks.
  • Self-Exclusion – For extended breaks, self-exclusion enables you to ban yourself from all gambling activities for durations ranging from six months to five years.

App Review

The Virgin Games app for iOS and Android performed incredibly well during our tests. Players enjoy the same clean and well-designed layout as the website, with the configuration only slightly altered to fit smaller screens.

Other user reviews also confirm the Virgin Games app’s quality. It holds a brilliant score of 4.6 out of 5 on both the App Store and Google Play, so users of Apple and Android devices alike should be more than happy. If you’d rather not install anything, the Virgin Games mobile site is perfectly functional too.

Support

Customer support is undoubtedly a strength at Virgin Games, with 24/7 assistance available through live chat. Although the site no longer operates a phone support line, players can still email the team and request a callback. Additionally, the site has an extensive FAQ section, making it easy to find answers to most questions.

Our Verdict

Virgin Games is an excellent online bingo platform that ticks all my boxes. I love the overall design and aesthetic, not to mention the remarkable breadth of gaming options. Gamesys does a brilliant job with its online bingo software, yet again staking its claim as the industry’s best current provider. Nevertheless, some players may be put off by the relative lack of bingo variants other than 90-ball, with only a handful of alternative formats available.

On the casino side, the remarkable array of non-bingo games is better than any other bingo site I’ve seen, giving players a huge amount of choice. The operator could work on its regular bingo promotions and banking methods lineup, but beyond that I struggled to find anything to complain about here — especially considering how fast my test payout was during the review, landing in around two hours.
