Owned and operated by Marketplay, Mr Play quickly became one of the top online betting sites in the UK since launching in 2017. Dubbing itself the ‘fun lover’s casino‘, Mr Play runs on the Aspire Global betting platform so customers get access to a huge range of casino games alongside a fully featured sportsbook. From the welcome bonus and ongoing promotions, to available payment methods and customer support, we’ve got all you need to know about Mr Play before you sign up.

Our Mr Play Review

I was pretty impressed with Mr Play overall, and it ticks most of the boxes I look for when reviewing online sportsbooks. The welcome bonus isn’t enormous by any means, but there’s a low barrier to entry and any resulting winnings are yours to keep.

There’s an excellent range of markets on offer at this online bookmaker, and a vast number of sports support in-play betting and early cash-out. I sometimes like to wait until a match begins to place my wagers, especially if it’s hard to call a winner, so this functionality is a must-have.

Mr Play also leads the pack when it comes to deposit and withdrawal options. While the majority of users may stick to the most popular methods, it’s great to see this bookmaker support less common services like AstroPay and MuchBetter so those in the know can reap the benefits. I do think the customer support could be improved with the addition of live chat, but I didn’t run into any troubles at the site so this wasn’t a big issue for me.

Is Mr Play a Trustworthy and Safe Brand?

To know if an online betting site is trustworthy and safe, the most important thing to look for is a licence from the UK Gambling Commission. Mr Play is operated by Aspire Global, a company that’s held a sports betting licence since 2017. The site also utilises 128-bit SSL encryption to keep your data safe.

Personal Experience Using Mr Play

My experience with Mr Play got off to a good start. Signing up took me a matter of minutes, after which I made an instant debit card deposit in order to qualify for the bonus. I typically opt for a qualifying bet that’s close to the min odds and then take a longer punt with my free bets — I did just that at Mr Play, although just my qualifying bet won.

Exploring the sportsbook, I was impressed with the diversity of markets. I placed a couple of live bets on a Premier League match between West Ham and Arsenal, and found the system easy to use. The fully functional betslip makes it easy to construct accas and system bets if you like to mix things up a bit too.

The withdrawal process was seamless. I requested a payout back to my debit card and it arrived the next day — not bad at all given the policy states a maximum wait of six days for this method. For future payments, I expect I’ll swap to PayPal as this is my preferred method for managing my betting budget. My only significant complaint with the site is its lack of promos for existing customers, but on the whole, I’m pleased to say I had a smooth journey from sign-up to withdrawal at Mr Play.

You’ll need to choose a username and password, and enter some personal details like name, address, and date of birth. You can also enter a Mr Play bonus code if you have one, but you won’t need to for this promotion.
  2. First Deposit
After logging into your new account, head to the cashier and make your first deposit. It should be at least £10, and you’ll need to use an eligible payment method to qualify for the free bet — PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, and Paysafecard are all excluded.
  3. Qualifying Bet
In order to lay your hands on the £10 free bet credit, you need to wager at least £10 at minimum odds of evens (1/1) or greater. Head to the sportsbook and see what takes your fancy — but remember the bet must settle within 14 days of placement to qualify for the bonus.

Ready to use your bonus? Simply return to the sportsbook and get browsing! Keep in mind your free bet has a min odds requirement of 4/5 (1.80) and is only valid for single bets and straight accumulators — system bets like Trixies and Yankees are unfortunately off the table.
  6. Withdrawing Your Bonus
There are no wagering requirements on winnings from free bets at Mr Play, so if you strike lucky you can withdraw the money straight away or use it for further betting. The free bet stake itself isn’t returned, but the profit is yours to keep.

Mr Play Existing Customer Promotions and Regular Offers

The ongoing Mr Play promotions are perhaps the only area this bookie could be considered to be slacking off. Compared to the competition, there’s not much to keep punters coming back for more — fingers crossed Mr Play will up its game in the near future.

PlayBoost Enhanced Acca Bets

The sole promo for existing customers at Mr Play is an acca boost offer. Here, winning accas receive boosted payouts from 4% for four legs, all the way up to 77% for 15-folds. Each leg must have min odds of 1/5 to qualify, and there’s a maximum benefit of £11,000.

On Which Sports Can You Apply The Sign Up Offer?

Mr Play’s range of betting markets is fantastic, and all are eligible for the free bet offer provided you meet the minimum odds. Naturally, the most popular markets like football and tennis feature the most depth. But there are plenty of niche events you can wager on too, from regional sports like Gaelic hurling and bandy, to Esports like Counter-Strike and Dota 2, and even non-sports markets like politics and chess. Here’s a closer look at some of your options.

Football

As is the case with most betting sites, Mr Play offers odds on a broad range of football leagues and tournaments from around the world. From domestic contests like the Premier League and Championship to further afield such as the Iran Pro League or the Slovak Superliga, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything missing at Mr Play.

Tennis

Although most punters only tune in for the four tennis majors, there are plenty more betting opportunities in this sport at Mr Play — including ATP, WTA, ITF, and Challenger matches.

Horse Racing

Some of the best horse racing takes place in the UK and Ireland, and with meetings taking place daily, there’s always something to bet on. Mr Play also accepts wagers on international horse racing, and offers ante-post odds on landmark events like the Grand National and Epsom Derby.

Golf

Another massively popular betting market, golf can present plenty of thrilling betting opportunities — especially when you pit players against each other in a head-to-head match-up. The majors are a great time to tune in, along with the hotly contested Ryder Cup.

Esports

The world of Esports betting is rapidly picking up speed, and Mr Play isn’t lagging behind whatsoever. Punters can wager on the likes of Dota 2, Counter-Strike, League of Legends, and more.

Live Betting & Streaming

As you’d expect from a major online bookmaker, mr.play boasts a diverse in-play catalogue, with sports like basketball, volleyball, baseball, and darts all bringing live betting opportunities. We particularly like the ‘fast betting’ markets, which allow punters to bet on the next five minutes of an event. It’s available for both football and tennis matches, so you may be able to bet on who’ll take the next corner kick, or whether a particular tennis player will win the current game or set.

A drawback to the mr.play sportsbook is that the site doesn’t currently offer any live streaming features. There are, however, handy extras like animated graphics, live stats, cash out options, and a betting tips bot – which takes some of the sting out of the absence of live-streamed events.

Odds

Mr.play offers fair odds that sit nicely in line with some of the best bookies in the UK. The site is particularly competitive on prices for popular sports like horse racing and football. Unfortunately, mr.play doesn’t currently offer a bet builder nor the chance to request odds over social media as some competitors do, but that’s not to say the site won’t introduce these popular features in the future.

On the plus side, mr.play has a feature called PlayBoost, which sees the returns on winning accas with four selections or more – at odds greater than 1/5 – boosted by up to 77%.

Does Mr Play have a Mobile App?

While there is a Mr Play app for iOS and Android, it’s only for the online casino branch of the site. If you want to bet on sports with Mr Play from your phone or tablet, you’ll need to navigate to the site using the mobile browser. Fortunately, you’ll get access to all the same features as you would on the desktop version, and the Mr Play mobile site is compatible with all modern devices.

The mr.play sportsbook features offers a mobile betting site and a native mobile app for Android

Design & Usability

Mr.play features a simple three-column layout that most bettors will find familiar. On the left, you’ll find links to popular areas of the site – Premier League, Serie A, UK and Ireland horse racing, etc., while a betting tips bot sits on the right and transforms into a bet slip just as soon as you select a bet.

In the middle of the page, you’ll find quick links to today’s events, in-play events, and upcoming events listed neatly alongside icons for all the most popular sports.

It doesn’t take long for the site to feel familiar, and it’s certainly easy to navigate. If we have one quibble, it’s that the pages can be slow to load. However, this doesn’t usually detract much from the overall experience.

Mr Play Key Sportsbook Features: What Makes Signing Up Worthwhile?

Although free bets and bonus codes are significant factors to consider when deciding on a sports betting site, the features and functionality of the platform are just as important. Here’s why the Mr Play sportsbook is a solid choice for any punter.

In-Play and Early Cash Out

There are plenty of live betting markets available at Mr Play, so you can get your wagers in after kick-off. On top, there’s the option to settle your bet early — whether you’re locking in a smaller profit or minimising a loss.

User Interface and Design

When there are thousands of odds available, the importance of a well-designed interface can’t be overstated. Thankfully, navigating the Mr Play sportsbook is easy thanks to its user-friendly layout, with handy features like a timeframe slider and customisable tabs.

Managing your betting budget at Mr Play is hassle-free thanks to a plethora of payment options. An abundance of e-wallets alongside Trustly and Paysafecard afford customers a strong degree of flexibility for deposits and withdrawals with no fees.

Mr.play offers an excellent selection of banking options for UK players. You can deposit funds into your account using a Visa or Mastercard debit card or the Trustly bank transfer service. The popular e-wallets PayPal, Neteller, and Skrill are also available, as is the prepaid Paysafecard. There’s not the option to pay by phone bill yet, but the array of alternatives makes up for that.

Deposit and Withdrawal Times and Limits

All the payment methods available for UK customers offer instant deposits at mr.play. There’s a minimum deposit of £10 each time you load up your account, and you can access a deposit limit tool to help ensure you don’t deposit more than you can afford.

If you get lucky and find yourself in line for a payout, you’ll find the withdrawal process as simple to navigate as depositing, with processing times in line with many of the country’s top bookmakers.

Trustly and e-wallet withdrawals will be your best bet for a fast transaction while cashing out via debit card can take up to six working days.

Which Payment Methods Can I Use To Deposit & Withdraw With Mr Play?

Mr Play features a host of payment methods for managing your budget. For new customers who wish to claim the bonus, I’d recommend opting for Trustly or a debit card for your qualifying deposit — PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, and Paysafecard are excluded.

However, once it comes to withdrawals and any subsequent deposits, PayPal or another e-wallet is an excellent choice on account of the convenience, withdrawal speed, and ability to keep all your betting funds under one account.
