  • Unibet’s live streaming capabilities makes this sportsbook one of the best live betting sites in the UK. Customers can watch the latest football, cricket, tennis, basketball, darts and ice hockey matches all through their Unibet account, provided they have an active bet in play. The live stream even extended to ten midweek Ligue 2 fixtures during the time of my review, which is impressive market depth. There are 38 different sports categories at your disposal at this sportsbook, including yachting and trotting, as well as all of the UK’s most celebrated sports. If you’re looking for the latest live betting opportunities, just click the In Play tab at the top of the homepage, or the Upcoming tab to see what’s to come.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Stream over 40,000 live sporting events a year
    • Huge selection of live sports markets
    • Action betting for ultra specific live bets
    cons icon Cons:
    • No live stream for horse racing
  • 32Red is another reputable name in the world of live betting sites. Not only do you get live streaming for a large number of events, but you can cash out live bets early as you follow the match. 32Red is a great stop for horse racing, thanks to regular odds boosts when you place bets on selected horses. There’s plenty else here too, from football and tennis, to snooker and pool, to WWE and UFC. Step over to 32Red’s casino and you’ll get a fantastic choice of slots and table games as well.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Live streaming available for plenty of sports
    • Thousands of football events covered annually
    • Sharp mobile app available for download
    • Also offers casino games
    cons icon Cons:
    • Not all bets qualify for cashouts
    • Lack of welcome bonus for sports bettors
  • If you’re a horse or greyhound racing fan, the Grosvenor sportsbook should be on your radar. You can watch daily racing events from the UK and Ireland across both sports for free, so long as you have a positive account balance or have placed a bet within the last 24 hours. Grosvenor’s race viewer also covers international racing events, but you’ll need to place a £1 winner or a 50p each way selection if you want live streaming access to races in the US, Australia and the Middle East. Click on the Live Betting tab on the sportsbook homepage for a drop-down menu of all the sporting events currently taking place and available to bet on.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Excellent live streaming service for horse and greyhound racing
    • Live stream international horse races
    cons icon Cons:
    • Live stream not available on other sports
  • BetUK is another outstanding live betting site if you’re a keen follower of horsing meets such as Epsom, Aintree, Cheltenham, Ascot, Goodwood and more. This sportsbook also provides live streaming coverage of the biggest international horse racing events in Ireland, France, Australia, South Africa, Dubai and the US. Away from horse racing, the BetUK mobile app makes live betting easy when you’re on the move, with access to 4,000 betting markets on the Premier League alone. Click on the Live Now tab at the top of the homepage for a breakdown of what’s currently available, or head to the Starting Soon section for future events.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Excellent live streaming for horse racing
    • Fantastic range of live betting markets
    cons icon Cons:
    • Live stream only available for horse racing
  • When I loaded up Bzeebet, the in-play betting markets were the first thing to appear. There was no shortage of choice, with all live sports handily categorised on the left-hand side. The mix is diverse — I found the most choice in football and, surprisingly, volleyball, but ice hockey, table tennis, cricket, and esports matches were all underway at the time of review. Bzeebet does fall a little short in terms of live streaming; the options here were mostly limited to CS:GO and other esports via an embedded Twitch stream. On the plus side, punters get a Bet £10 Get £10 free bet offer which can be used on live betting, although such bets aren’t eligible for the cash out option.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Plenty of in-play betting markets;
    • Free bet welcome bonus;
    • Great range of ongoing promotions.
    cons icon Cons:
    • Limited live streaming options.
  • HeySpin certainly isn’t the prettiest site, but I quite like the way it favours utility over style. With hundreds of in-play betting markets to choose from, the way you can precisely dial in is incredibly useful. Handy side panels let you keep tabs on upcoming horse racing and greyhound events plus bet builder markets. Detailed animations and statistics can be viewed when live streaming isn’t available. Put it all together and this sportsbook feels like a command station for all things live betting.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Fantastic functionality for browsing live betting;
    • Vast choice of in-play markets;
    • Supports early cash out;
    • Bet £15 Get £10 for new customers.
    cons icon Cons:
    • Site appearance is quite plain.
  • This betting behemoth from across the pond recently launched in the UK, and it’s fast becoming one of my favourite live betting sites. Browsing in-play markets is as simple as clicking a tab in the top menu, with users then able to filter by sport. Certain matches feature a small icon indicating an available live stream, and I was pleased to see at least some coverage under each sport, including European basketball tournaments, UK snooker, and the ATP Challenger tour. BetMGM gives new bettors a generous £40 bonus package when they bet £10, split into horse racing, football, bet builder, and acca free bets.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Solid in-play betting coverage;
    • Welcome free bets which can be used on live betting;
    • User-friendly site design;
    • Good range of live streaming;
    • Mobile app for iOS and Android.
    cons icon Cons:
    • Limited payment methods available.
  • Live betting was available on eight different sports during the time of my review, with 10bet taking in-play wagers on competitions from all over the world. I really like 10bet’s organisation of live betting markets – just head to the Live Bets interface on the homepage and select from the In-play, Up Next, Today and 48 Hours tabs to find both current and upcoming live betting events. There were 34 tennis matches taking live bets on the day of my review, so 10bet customers can expect excellent live market coverage across a range of sports.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Well-designed live betting interface
    • Excellent live market coverage
    cons icon Cons:
    • No live streaming facilities
  • Live betting on football at Parimatch extends to markets all the way down in the National League, the fifth tier of English football – impressive live market coverage by any standard. This coverage continues to other sports, including darts, basketball, tennis, cricket, snooker, table tennis and volleyball, all of which had live betting markets available at the time of my review. Parimatch does complement this range of sports with a live stream, but it unfortunately isn’t available on football, tennis or basketball. Parimatch does, however, boast the best esports live streaming service in the UK, with live streams active around the clock.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Outstanding live market coverage
    • Round the clock live streaming of esports
    cons icon Cons:
    • Live stream not available on the biggest sports
  • You’ll find competitive odds on all of Mr Play’s live betting markets, which covers an impressive 37 different sports. I like the way Mr Play organises its live betting interface, which you can access by clicking the In-Play tab in the top-left of the homepage. Once you’re there, you can switch between the In-Play and Upcoming sections for a breakdown of current and future sporting events. You can expand the search by increments of four hours to cover everything between now and 24 hours into the future. Live streaming is limited on the biggest sports, but bettors will have access to an extensive range of esports live streams.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Competitive live betting odds
    • Well-designed live betting interface
    • Extensive market coverage
    cons icon Cons:
    • No live stream for the most popular sports
In-Play Sports

Bet on the Top Sports In-Play

If you’re new to live betting, you’ll be amazed at the range of in-play betting markets on offer at the best live betting sites. It’s not just that the UK’s most popular sports are covered – such as football, tennis, cricket, boxing, horse racing and more – but also that live betting markets extend to competitions, tournaments and races in the remotest corners of the world. If your bookie accepts bets on a sport, in all likelihood it will also accept live bets on that sport – it’s that simple.

The top live bet sites will also have live streaming facilities available, allowing you to witness the action in real-time through your sportsbook account. eSports fans should pay particular attention here, as many sites live stream esports matches 24/7. Let’s break down the live betting experience of the UK’s five biggest sports.

Top Live Football Betting

Football is the UK’s most popular sport, which means it’s also the UK’s most popular sport to bet on. With multiple fixtures taking place at all times around the world, you’ll rarely have to wait for an opportunity to place a live football bet.

Our favourite live football betting site: Unibet

Top Live Tennis Betting

Live tennis betting is at its best during one of the sport’s Grand Slams, but there’s no need to wait for one of those to come around in order to place a live tennis bet, with smaller matches and tournaments constantly taking place somewhere in the world.

Our favourite live tennis betting site: 10bet

Top Live Boxing Betting

Restrictive television rights mean you’ll rarely be able to live stream any boxing fights, but you’ll still have access to some dynamic in-play boxing betting markets. During a major bout, live boxing betting can become incredibly exciting, as punters make calls on a round-by-round basis.

Our favourite live boxing betting site: 32Red

Top Live Horse Racing Betting

Horse racing is one of the most popular sports for live betting, because most sportsbooks prioritise the races in their live streaming services. It means that not only can you place live bets, but you can also watch if your pick is a winner through your betting account.

Our favourite live horse racing betting site: Grosvenor

Top Live Cricket Betting

The minutiae of a day of Test cricket can lend itself very well to live betting markets, where punters can make calls by the over, the session, the innings or the day. With many other forms of cricket all offering something different, this is one of the most versatile sports for live betting.

Our favourite live cricket betting site: Parimatch

Live Betting Markets

Choose from a Range of In-Play Markets

Just like you can bet on many different sports in-play, you can also try your luck on a wide variety of different live betting markets at the top sportsbooks. From under/overs, handicaps and goal scorers to the number of corners and red cards, there are loads of markets to choose from – and that’s just for football! You can also make live accumulator bets, while some of the best live betting sites even offer you the chance to build your own bets.

Again, some betting sites offer a more extensive selection of live betting markets than others, so we’d recommend making sure the offering is to your liking before signing up.

In-Play Accumulator Bets

In-Play Accumulator Bets

If you’re not already familiar with the idea of accumulators, these are a type of wager where you chain multiple bets — called legs — together. The winnings from each leg are then used as a stake for the next one. Ultimately, the idea is to increase the potential reward but with a much slimmer chance of success.

Accas can also be placed either entirely or partially using in-play bets. Take football for example. You might use live betting to get a sense of each team’s form over four concurrent matches before committing to your acca. An example bet could look like this:

  1. Leicester Women to beat Tottenham Women – 5/6
  2. Oviedo to beat Eibar – 15/2
  3. Carrarese to beat Spal – 5/6
  4. Maritimo to beat Torreense – 10/3

The odds are multiplied, giving total odds of 122.8/1. Say you stake £10 — that’s a potential profit of £1,228, although the chances of the bet coming good are slim!

Bet builders are a similar concept to accas, but are focused on a single event. These can also be placed in play. You could bet on the ATP World Tour final between Djokovic and Sinner, for example. Once the first set plays out and you’ve assessed the players, you could place a bet builder on Sinner to win the second set, over 19.5 aces during the match, and Djokovic to win.

Live Betting Odds

Potentially Benefit From Better Live Odds

There is generally very little variation when it comes to pre-match odds at different online sportsbooks, as each betting site has the time to calculate the odds and make sure they’re competitive. However, when it comes to live betting, there can be larger discrepancies in the odds offered at different sportsbooks, as each has less time to match its odds up against other sites. Live betting can also give astute punters opportunities to find more favourable odds.

For example, if the favourite in a football match concedes an early goal against an underdog, or if a player receives a red card, this can have a significant effect on the odds. Get your bet in quick enough, and you could benefit from better odds. Of course, things could always go the other way, but that’s just part of the risk that comes with betting. If you keep a close eye on the action, bet in an informed way and get your wagers in fast, then live betting could potentially be more profitable then pre-match betting.

Live Streaming

Stream Live Matches From Your Betting Account

As well as offering in-play betting markets, many of the best betting sites offer live streaming services for sports matches and events. This means you can watch big football matches, horse races and much more without needing a TV subscription. For many players, this adds to the excitement of live betting as you can watch events unfold and place your bets accordingly, all from a single account and device. Some of the top sportsbooks also offer real-time stats which can help you make informed bets.

Most sportsbooks have a qualifying requirement for live streams. This can be having a bet on the event that’s being streamed, having placed a bet in the last 24 hours, or simply having a funded account.

In-Play Bonuses

Bag a Live Betting Site Bonus

Sought after by many punters, betting bonuses are a great way to get more value from your bankroll. They’re also a popular choice for testing the water before putting your own money on the line. Just as with promos for pre-match bets, these deals come in a range of formats. Here’s an at-a-glance guide to the different types you might come across at live betting sites.

The most common live betting site bonus you’ll encounter is a free bet. Whether it’s part of a welcome package, a weekly free bet club, or something else, the premise is simple — use the free bet credit to place a wager without spending your own cash. If your bet wins, you’ll get to keep the profit. Not all free bets can be used on live betting, so be sure to check the T&Cs before you claim.

Matched deposits are typically given on your first deposit as a new customer. You could receive 100% up to £50, for example. Here, your deposit is effectively doubled up to the maximum. Matched deposits are usually given as bonus bet credit which is subject to certain terms and conditions, but many live betting sites will let you use it on in-play bets.

While no one enjoys a loss, a money back offer can lessen the sting by returning your stake up to a certain value, usually as free bet. Say you’ve got a money back bet up to £30 on your first live bet at the site. If it wins, all good! If not, you’ll receive a free bet equal to your stake.

The best in-play betting sites might offer cashback to their customers. This could be a percentage of your total deposits or losses at the site over a given period — say 5% of total losses each week. Cashback is normally given as free bet credit, but you may be able to withdraw it too.

Especially popular in markets such as horse racing, odds boosts will give you a higher payout if your bet comes good. They’re not available as often for live betting and mostly show up on pre-match markets, but you may be able to use a more flexible odds boost token on a live betting market.

Also make sure you check the terms and conditions of bonuses, as some may exclude free bet markets, Keep an eye out for other terms like wagering requirements, minimum odds and maximum win limits.

Live Mobile Betting

Bet In-Play On Your Mobile

Mobile betting is hugely popular among sports bettors, so it’s no surprise the best online betting sites ensure they’re live betting products are optimised for mobile play. You can bet in-play on mobile betting sites which you can access through smartphone and tablet web browsers, meaning you can bet live whenever, wherever.

Many of the top sportsbooks also offer mobile betting apps for iPhone and Android devices, and these apps can make mobile live betting even smoother. Betting apps also have the added benefit of push notifications, meaning you’ll be alerted to the latest promotions and news, and some sportsbooks even offer app-exclusive bonuses!
