Golf is one of the most popular sports in the world, for players, spectators and bettors alike. With plenty of top events taking place throughout the year, there’s no end to the betting possibilities. Of course, you’ll need to pick out a top sports betting site before you start betting on the green. That’s where we come in.

We’ve rounded up the very best golf betting sites around, along with the top bonuses on offer. Whether you fancy some live golf betting or a punt on a future major, our recommended bookies offer a whole range of markets and the most competitive golf odds. To help you get started, let’s tee-off and delve deeper into what to look out for when you bet on golf online.

Best Golf Betting Sites

  • As soon as I loaded up Bzeebet, I was struck by just how much there is to sink your teeth into. In fact, there’s so much packed into this sportsbook that it’s almost overwhelming. Nevertheless, once I’d got to grips with the layout, I was glad to have so much functionality at my fingertips. The welcome bonus is a modest £10 free bet when you stake £10 — not a bad way to get started, although I’ve seen larger offers elsewhere. As for ongoing promos, the focus here is on combo bets, with payout boosts for the more selections you make up to 77%. There’s also a weekly free bet club when you place a qualifying combo. On the payments side, I was pleased to see AstroPay supported. I often opt for this service where it’s available, as it combines the security and privacy benefits of a prepaid card with the withdrawal speeds of an e-wallet.

I enjoyed plenty of golf betting online options, with the bookie covering all major men’s and women’s events. The superb interface was a major highlight, enabling an easy choice between ‘In-Play’, ‘Leagues’, ‘Boosted Odds’, and ‘Highlights’. Golf can be more of an afterthought at some bookmakers, but Bzeebet is determined to be one of the best golf betting sites on the market with its extensive coverage and brilliant layout. One minor niggle was the inability to include golf selections while using the bet builder, but this isn’t available at many bookmakers, so it’s not a dealbreaker by any means.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Modern design with handy widgets to keep track of events
    • Great range of payment methods
    • Bet and Get welcome offer
    • Fully optimised for mobile browsers
    cons icon Cons:
    • Most ongoing promotions are casino-focused
  • While HeySpin’s name might suggest the focus is on casino games, you’d be foolish to overlook its fantastic sportsbook. We particularly love the customisable betslip, which makes it easy to combine different types of bets into accas and multis. Along with the most popular  golf events, you’ll find plenty of other sports to bet on, and new customers can claim a £10 free bet with no wagering requirements after staking £15 at the site.

HeySpin has a busy interface, so you’ll need a minute or two to get to grips with the exhaustive options. Racing betting fans will love the shortcuts in the top right-hand corner, and it’s nice to have an instantly accessible betslip in the bottom left. The operator also marks itself as one of the best golf betting sites with a great interface. Make sure you click on the ‘More’ option on the golf betting homepage to uncover one of the most comprehensive collections of outright markets and boosted odds. I also enjoyed the up to 77% boost on combo bets, a great promo to use during popular golf events like the Ryder Cup.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Fantastic in-play betting features
    • Huge range of sports markets
    • £10 free bet welcome bonus
    • No wagering requirements on free bet winnings
    cons icon Cons:
    • Welcome offer smaller than at other sites
    • Limited ongoing promotions
  • BetMGM launched its UK sports betting platform in August 2023, finally offering its services to British punters after considerable anticipation. The bet £10 and get £40 in free bets welcome bonus is one of the industry’s most generous, enabling you to test out a range of options for golf betting online. This legendary sportsbook also treats customers to wide-ranging ongoing promotions. My favourite for golf was the weekly acca boosts, generating up to 50% profit increases. This will be a particularly attractive bonus during major competitions like the Ryder Cup or The Open.

Navigating the golf betting options on the BetMGM browser website is slightly more complicated than I’d like. I had to mess around with a few different menus before unlocking the full range of golf betting odds. However, once there, I was greeted by a treasure trove of odds and markets, blowing most other competitors out of the water. And I had no such issues on the impeccable iOS and Android app, generating some of my favourite mobile golf betting options.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Leading international gambling brand
    • Generous bet £10 and get £40 in free bets welcome bonus
    • Extensive golf betting coverage
    • Superb iOS and Android mobile apps
    cons icon Cons:
    • Browser layout can be slightly confusing
  • While I usually associate the Grosvenor brand with its online and land-based casinos, it also runs a pretty slick sportsbook with plenty of golf betting, including round by round and 1×2 match-ups. I also like Grosvenor’s fresh welcome offer, which is a 100% odds boost token to use on a bet of your choice. Regular bettors can benefit from a £5 free bet each week they wager at least £25. While payment methods are rather limited at this site, I was pleased to see PayPal and Paysafecard included alongside debit cards.

As you would expect from such a distinguished gambling brand, Grosvenor goes above and beyond with its golf betting coverage. I enjoyed options like the lesser-known DP World Tour alongside the PGA Tour and famous international events like the Ryder Cup. The great golf coverage extends to each match-up, with several bets covering Hole-by-Hole and other markets. Punters can also access external golf statistics via the handy shortcut in the top right of every match-up profile — a great way to further your understanding and make better-informed predictions. An additional highlight is Grosvenor’s instant withdrawal support, a notable selling point for bettors looking to withdraw as fast as possible.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Fantastic mix of sports betting and casino games
    • Weekly free bet club
    • Odds boost for new customers
    cons icon Cons:
    • Limited payment methods supported
  • Parimatch is one of the best golf betting sites for several reasons. I love the clear and concise layout, with easily accessible menus and search categories providing a seamless wagering experience. But this is just scratching the surface regarding the entire range of golf betting highlights. I could immediately tell the operator means business by the handy statistics and leaderboards at the top of each competition’s homepage. For example, I could access live information concerning the overall scoreboard, individual player performances, and even diagrams of each hole. I haven’t seen this elsewhere, so Parimatch gets extra points.

The bookie also has an extensive selection of betting markets, covering outrights, 3-ball, various match bets, and more. One of my only complaints is that the welcome bonus isn’t available for golf. Parimatch has specific registration offers for things like football, horse racing, tennis, eSports, and combat sports, but nothing for golf — a shame.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Detailed statistics and information on golf tournaments
    • Streamlined and intuitive user experience
    • Official partnerships with Chelsea and Leicester City
    • Withdrawals within 30 minutes
    cons icon Cons:
    • No welcome bonus for golf betting
  • When it comes to golf betting sites, BetStorm has it all. Along with a great range of golf markets and other sports, this site supports live betting and cash out. With plenty of payment options, managing your bankroll is easy. And to seal the deal, new customers get £30 in free bets when they sign up and bet £10 with promo code ‘SB30’.

My favourite Bet Storm highlight is the ‘Live Multiview’ area, a customisable live betting homepage allowing punters to categorise their favoured live betting events under one helpful tab. It worked wonders during my experience, especially considering the operator has one of the most expansive golf betting online collections I’ve seen. I was spoilt for choice across hundreds of options spanning popular men’s and women’s golf tours, with slightly less common tournaments like the CME Group Tour Championship well accounted for alongside the traditional big-hitters. Bet Storm also includes a ‘Live Calendar’ tab, an extremely helpful way to keep up-to-date with the next in-play golf betting events. Use the search filters in the top left to easily pinpoint all golf options. The bookmaker may lag behind competitors in some areas like aesthetic design and mobile apps, but there’s no denying Bet Storm is one of the best golf betting sites for in-play odds.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Large welcome bonus
    • Many payment methods supported
    • Thousands of markets including golf
    • Regular promotions
    cons icon Cons:
    • 7-day time limit on welcome bonus
    • 1x wagering on bonus winnings
  • I was immediately impressed with 10bet’s sleek and modern user interface. Smart organisation made it easy for me to find the latest golf betting markets at a glance, including in-play and upcoming events. When it came to making my first deposit, I was particularly pleased to see the inclusion of Apple Pay among other popular services like PayPal and Trustly. As someone who often bets on mobile, this is a big plus, along with 10bet’s fantastic mobile app. One area I’d like to see improved is the welcome bonus, which stands at a 50% match up to £50. With that said, the site has a wealth of ongoing promotions. While I didn’t see any for golf at the time of review, I’m expecting 10bet will run some US Open betting offers nearer the time.

    • User-friendly design and interface
    • Large range of ongoing promos
    • Dedicated mobile app
    • Apple Pay supported
    cons icon Cons:
    • Welcome bonus is less competitive
  • Vegas Mobile Sports is a particularly eye-catching option for casino enthusiasts, offering integrated slots, live dealer titles, and other options alongside its newly launched sportsbook. If you can get past the uninspiring aesthetic, there’s a lot to love about this golf betting online platform. For example, the £20 free bet offer after a minimum £10 deposit is a nice way to kick things off. Unfortunately, this comes with a 50x wagering requirement, so be careful.

The operator only recently introduced its sports betting platform, so the golf markets aren’t quite as extensive as I’d like. Substantial work needs to be done here to elevate the bookie if it wants to compete with the best golf betting sites.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Integrated online casino
    • Varied payment methods
    • Native mobile apps
    cons icon Cons:
    • Hardly any golf betting options
    • Basic design
  • If you’re looking to play casino games alongside wagering on sports such as golf, 32Red is one of the best betting sites around. Another perk of this site is its wide array of payment methods, making it easy to deposit and withdraw. We’re also big fans of the daily horse racing price boosts — an enticing option in between professional golf tournaments.

32Red also competes with the best golf betting sites regarding its market coverage and bet types. I could choose from everything from outrights to match bets, with the streamlined layout making things exceptionally easy to navigate. One small complaint would be the omission of golf betting options outside the traditional status quo. This won’t be a problem for punters wanting fairly straightforward wagering on major competitions, but 32Red doesn’t offer the same versatility as other platforms like 10bet or BetMGM.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Many payment methods supported
    • Well-designed sportsbook
    • Best-in-class casino games available
    • Horse racing odds boosts every day
    cons icon Cons:
    • Welcome bonus for casino games only
    • Sports betting not available via 32Red app
  • One of the first things I noticed at Luckster Sport was the sheer range of options listed on the homepage. The bookie is similar to Hey Spin, with both sites sitting under the Aspire Global umbrella. I enjoyed the easily accessible bet slip and helpful menus, especially the ‘Boosted Odds’ section in the golf homepage.

While Luckster Sport’s welcome bonus is quite small compared to competitors with just £10 in free bets available, I enjoyed the ongoing promotions. The up to 77% profit boost on pre-match golf betting combos was my favourite, and will come in particularly useful during the most anticipated events. The bookie also offers rapid withdrawals, enabling you to withdraw within 30 minutes or less.

    pros icon Pros:
    • Fast withdrawal support
    • Design packed with easily accessible options
    • Detailed golf betting odds
    • 77% profit boost on combos
    cons icon Cons:
    • Quite small welcome bonus
Our Ranking Criteria

How We Review Golf Online Betting Sites

At Compare.bet, we review bookmakers to ensure they offer a safe and enjoyable online betting experience, and you can browse our latest great finds at the top of this page. Here’s what we look for when we decide if an online golf betting site makes the grade.

  • Licensing and Safety – In the UK, legal sportsbooks are licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission. This licence assures that a bookmaker is safe to use, so it’s the first thing we confirm is in place. We only recommend licensed bookies, so there’s no room for manoeuvre with this one.
  • Betting Odds and Markets – We want you to enjoy the best golf betting odds and the most exciting betting markets, so our reviews include a look at how bookies do in this regard. Top golf betting sites offer competitive odds, plenty of enhanced price deals and a wide range of golf betting markets on which to place your bets.
  • Bonus Offers – It’s not unusual for bookies to feature promo pages packed with bonuses. Our experts dig deep into the T&Cs to ensure you’re not only getting a fair deal, but also so you’re up to speed with the pros and cons of these offers. That way, you can find and enjoy the bonuses that suit you best.
  • Payment Methods – We expect the best golf betting sites to offer a range of payment options, so we head to the cashier page to see what’s available. Debit cards, Trustly, e-wallets and prepaid cards are among the options we want to see. When it comes to payouts, we ensure they’re as fast and fuss-free as possible.
  • Site Design – The best sites look great and are easy to get around. Conducting betting site reviews gives us the ideal opportunity to see how a site’s design looks and feels on a range of devices, so we can give you a good idea of what to expect when you sign up.
  • Mobile Compatibility – Plenty of punters prefer to bet on mobile, so we ensure that all our featured sites offer a handy mobile version of their main desktop site. Some of our best picks also offer a native mobile app. Due to perks like push notifications for bonus codes, these golf betting apps are the preferred option for many bettors.
  • Customer Support – Great support is indicative that a bookie cares about its customers, so we check out what’s on offer as part of our bookmaker review process. The best sites offer live chat, which is often available 24/7, along with options like on-site contact forms and email and telephone support.
US Open Betting

2023 US Open Betting

As one of the four golf majors — along with the Masters, the British Open, and the PGA Championship — the US Open is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the golfing calendar. It takes place at a number of courses across the United States, many of which are picked for their difficulty. Players must contend with narrow fairways, thick rough, strategically placed hazards, and fast, undulating greens if they want to claim the top spot.

The field consists of around 156 players. Exemptions are given to the top-ranked pros and amateurs, but a number of qualifiers take place to fill the remaining spots in the lead-up to the tournament.

The US Open is a stroke play tournament, meaning players are scored based on the cumulative number of strokes. Four rounds are played in the US Open — 72 holes in total. A cut is made after the first two rounds, eliminating a portion of the field while the rest continue to compete over the final 36 holes. The player with the lowest cumulative score by the end is crowned the winner.

English golfer Matt Fitzpatrick lifted the championship trophy in 2022 — beating Scottie Schaeffler and Will Zalatoris by just one stroke for a total of 6 under par — and taking home a juicy $3,150,000 prize purse. Rory McIlroy holds the record score for the US Open, at 268 aggregate, which he achieved in 2011.

2023’s instalment of the US Open will take place from 15–18 June on the North Course of Los Angeles Country Club in California.

US Open Betting Offers

You’ll see a huge variety of promos pop up in the run-up to the US Open. There’s nothing stopping you from signing up for a new bookie to enjoy free bet offers for the big event — though if you’re already a customer of a top golf betting site like Paddy Power or Betfred, there are plenty of US Open betting offers available to existing customers.

  • Enhanced Sign Up Offers – The US Open is one of the hottest events at golf online betting sites, and you might catch bookies drawing in punters with an enhanced sign-up offer. Bonuses will often be something like an extra free bet to spend on the US Open, an odds boost offer, or a money-back deal.
  • Free Bets – Free bets are always a big draw at online bookies, and you’ll find plenty of them about. These won’t be just for new customers — existing players are often able to nab bet-and-get deals like a £5 in-play or prop bet for placing a £10 futures bet on the US Open.
  • Enhanced Odds – Before you bet on the US Open, it’s worth seeing if your bookie’s offering enhanced odds on any particular markets. Some golf betting sites will even give you odds boost tokens to use on any bet you like — perfect if you think Brooks Koepka could land his third win by fending off world number one Jon Rahm.
  • Extra Places – Got a hunch a golfer will perform well, but not necessarily win? Each way betting is the ideal solution. While five places paid on the US Open winner was common in the past, the best golf betting sites now offer as many as eight or more, giving you more chances to land a winner for the same stake.
  • Bonus Codes – If you’ve been loyal to a particular betting site, or bet on golf on the site in the past, you might find yourself in line for a special betting bonus for the US Open. You may see a bonus code delivered to your email address or spot a special offer in your account notifications.
Golf Betting Basics

Getting Started

Thanks to golf’s global popularity, you can bet on it all year round. The most prestigious events are the four majors: the Masters, the US Open, the British Open and the PGA Championship. There are also international contests, such as the four World Golf Championship (WGC) events and the Ryder Cup. This famous tournament takes place every two years and sees the best from the US face off against Europe’s finest, making for some thrilling match ups.

The fun definitely doesn’t stop there, though. With over 20 professional tours, there are loads of tournaments to try your luck on. The PGA tour is the biggest, featuring the top players like Justin Rose, Brooks Koepka and Dustin Johnson. The European tour is also right up there, while the LPGA, PGA Tour Champions and the Asian Tour are part of a growing list of other circuits providing punters with additional action at the bookies.

Here’s a rundown of the main events you can take a punt on at the best golf betting sites:

January: Dubai Desert Classic
Tournament of Champions
February: WGC Mexico Championship
Phoenix Open
AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am
March: Arnold Palmer Invitational
The Players’ Championship
WGC Match Play
April: The Masters
May: AT&T Byron Nelson
PGA Championship
June: US Open
BMW International Open
July: Scottish Open
The Open Championship
August: BMW Championship
Tour Championship
WGC Invitational
September: Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
October: World Golf Championships HSBC Champions
CIMB Classic
November: World Tour Championship, Dubai
WGC HSBC Champions
December: South African Open

Scoring in Golf

The objective of golf is pretty simple — complete each hole in the fewest possible strokes. There are two types of scoring used in professional golf tournaments:

  • Stroke Play – The most common way to score a round of golf, stroke play aggregates each player’s number of strokes across each hole. Whichever player completes the course in the least number of strokes is the winner. The Masters is one example of a tournament scored with stroke play.
  • Match Play – Found in team events like the Ryder Cup, match play awards points on a hole-by-hole basis. To win a hole, a player or team must complete it in the fewest strokes. Some consider match play to be more exciting than stroke play. As the scores on previous holes don’t matter, this format allows for players to recover from a poor performance on a specific hole.

Birdies and Bogeys – Par Explained

Every hole in golf has a designated ‘par’ — the number of strokes a skilled golfer is expected to take to sink the ball. Most holes have a par of 3, 4, or 5. You’ll also see round par and tournament par, which is the total par across a course or contest, respectively.

Par is used as a benchmark for scoring, with players completing holes ‘over’, ‘under’, or ‘at’ par. For example, a golfer who completes a 4-par hole in three strokes is ‘1 under par’, also known as a birdie.

Here’s a rundown of golf scoring terms and what they mean:

  • Condor: -4 = 4 strokes under par
  • Albatross: -3 = 3 strokes under par

What can I Bet On?

While betting on an outright winner is a great place to start if you’re new to golf betting, it’s not the only wager you can make. Read on to discover the different markets offered at the best golf betting sites.

Of course, it’s wise to do a bit of research before jumping in with a bet. When choosing who or what to back, you may want to try the following:

  • Study historic and recent performance of players.
  • Understand the tournament format.
  • Check the weather conditions, as these have a heavy impact on the match.
  • Consider backing the favourite, or go with an underdog for longer odds.
  • Explore the different markets available to find the best value.

You’ll find more golf betting tips further down the page.

Golf Betting Markets

Punters certainly aren’t short of choice when it comes to betting markets at the top betting sites. Here’s a look at some of the most popular:

  • Outright – An outright bet is simply a punt on which player you think will win a tournament.
  • Each way – Best-known in horse racing, an each-way wager is made up of two bets: to win and to place. This gives you a chance of netting some cash, even if the golfer you back doesn’t win – providing they finish in one of the stated places. Of course, in such instances, you’ll only earn a fraction of the payout for a winning bet.
  • To place – Here you’re betting on a golfer to place within a certain ranking, such as top 10 or top 20, making it a safer bet. Just don’t expect to find particularly generous odds on this market.
  • Round betting – This is a bet on which player you think will top the leaderboard after a certain round, such as first-round leader.
  • To make/miss the cut – In golf, the “cut” is the number of points that splits the players that progress from those that exit a tournament after a certain round, so you can bet on who’s going to make it through or head home early.
  • Head to head – A head to head bet is where you wager on which player will achieve the best score on a particular hole.
  • Top points scorer – For some tournaments, such as the Ryder Cup, you can take a punt on which player will score the highest total number of points.
  • Live golf betting – You can also bet on golf as the action’s underway, thanks to live golf betting sites. As golf isn’t as fast-paced as other sports like basketball, you’ll have plenty of time to assess the in-play action and plan your next move.
  • Futures – As the name suggests, here you’re betting on a future event. For example, you can bet on the winner of next year’s Open Championship, which is basically an outright bet but you’ll have higher odds as there’s greater risk involved.
  • Player specials – These are bets on the performance of a specific player. Examples of player special bets include Rory McIlroy not to win a tour event, or Tiger Woods to win three majors this year.
  • Hole-in-one bet – This is a wager on whether a golfer will make a hole in one in a particular tournament.
Picking a Winner

Picking a Winner

Golf events often feature a large number of players — over 100 at some tournaments — so it’s fair to say that picking a winner isn’t always easy. The ‘horses for courses’ cliché often applies more to golf than many other sports and knowing your stuff can help you make smart golf bets. With that in mind, we’ve put together some tips below to help you out.

  • Check Recent Results and Statistics
The world rankings and golf betting odds can be a good place to start when you’re trying to pick a winner, but these are far from the be-all and end-all. For example, Dustin Johnson was the world number one for most of 2018, but only won three of the 20 tournaments he entered that year.
  • Check the Weather Forecast
When it comes to sports like football and rugby, bettors must weigh up factors like recent form and player statistics to get the best chance of landing some returns. With golf, you’ll also have to account for other factors, such as weather conditions and the course. Certain players loathe playing links golf, whereas others detest Augusta, where you need to be accurate off the tee.
  • Consider Betting on Less Popular Events
As you can imagine, it’s major tournaments like the US Open and the Masters that typically attract the most punters at online golf betting sites, but these aren’t necessarily your best bets. In recent years, several of Europe’s leading stars have started playing more events in Asia. You may well find better value away from the biggest competitions, so keep your eyes open for who is playing where and when.

Bonuses

Grab a Bankroll Boost

As a new customer, you can get your online golf betting into full swing by claiming a welcome bonus from your online bookmaker. And once this has run dry, you’ll be able to take advantage of ongoing promotions at the best golf betting sites. These bonuses come in a few different formats which we’ve explained below.

Matched Deposit Bonuses

A number of golf betting sites offer matched deposit deals, where you can bag a bonus worth a percentage of your first deposit. How does it work? Once you sign up and make your qualifying deposit, you’ll receive bonus credit which can be used to place bets.

This bonus credit is separate from your real money balance. While the bet credit itself can’t be withdrawn, resulting winnings are yours to keep — provided you’ve met any extra terms like wagering requirements.

  • 10bet offers new players a 50% matched deposit up to £50. That means if you deposit £100, you’ll receive £50 in bonus credit to use at the site.

Free Bets

Free bets are the deal you’re most likely to come across. These are bonus bets you’ll receive after making a qualifying deposit or wager. The free bet is usually for a fixed amount — say £5 or £10 — and can be used to wager on eligible markets that meet the minimum odds. Typically, the stake isn’t returned if your bet wins, although the profit is yours once any wagering requirements are met.

  • New customers at BetStorm can receive £30 in free bets when they sign up and make their first bet of £10 using promo code ‘SB30’. Free bet winnings must be wagered 1x before they can be withdrawn.

Existing Customer Promotions

Thankfully, the fun doesn’t stop once you’ve used up your welcome bonus. Lots of sportsbooks offer regular promotions, so you’ll never be short of a freebie. There’s often a bit more diversity when it comes to offers for existing players:

  • Some bookies also offer special golf bonuses for big events, such as extended placing on each-way bets.
  • Enhanced golf odds are another popular promotion, where you can get price boosts on certain markets and potentially bag some extra winnings.
  • Reload bonuses give you a chance to get some extra value next time you add funds to your betting wallet, often given as deposit matches or free bets.
  • Cashback is highly sought after by regular bettors. With this bonus, you’ll receive a portion of your deposits or losses back as real cash or bet credit. Sometimes you’ll see sport-specific cashback offers, such as 10% cashback on losing golf bets during the US Open.
Mobile Betting

Bet on Golf, On the Go

Gone are the days when online golf betting was restricted to desktop computers. Now you can bet on golf whenever you want, wherever you want, thanks to mobile golf betting. You’ll have access to the same golf odds, markets, banking options and bonuses when you bet on your mobile, so you definitely won’t be missing out on anything.

Top bookies also tend to have the best mobile betting apps, which make sports betting faster and easier- perfect for wagering when you’re on the go. On top of that, golf betting apps have handy benefits like push notifications so you’re kept in the know on the latest top betting bonuses and live golf betting markets.

Some sportsbooks even offer exclusive mobile-only promotions, which are definitely worth keeping an eye out for.

Benefits of Golf Betting Apps

Here’s a quick round-up of why you might want to consider a golf betting app instead of a mobile site.

pros-icon

Pros

  • Convenience – Once the app is installed, you’ll be able to browse the golf betting markets in just a few taps from the home screen.
  • Speed – As betting apps are designed specifically for your device, they’re often snappier to use. And since they’re stored locally, loading times are quicker too.
  • Security – The best golf betting apps let you protect your account with biometrics such as face or touch ID for quick and secure login.
  • Push notifications – Enable push notifications and you’ll get a helpful ping whenever your bets settle or there’s a new offer available to claim.
  • Promotions – Some golf betting sites offer exclusive bonus bets to those who play via their mobile apps.
const-icon

Cons

  • Compatibility – If your device is particularly old, it may not be compatible with the golf betting app. Furthermore, some apps are only available for iOS but not Android, or vice versa.
  • Device storage – While it won’t be much, betting apps do take up a bit of storage space on your handset.
  • Responsible gambling – It’s true that quick and convenient access to a sportsbook is one of the many benefits to betting apps. But it can also encourage you to bet more often or lose track of how much time and money you’re spending on gambling. Be sure to set limits within your account before you play.

Bet on the Golf In-Play

Golf is a fairly slow-paced sport, but it is also one where the slightest mistake on one hole can entirely change the outcome of a tournament. As such, you will have more time than with other sports to pick your moment and lay a bet on the in-play market. Say the odds-on favourite hits a fortunate birdie on one hole, this could be an indication that their luck is about to run out. As such, your money may well be best placed on someone else.

Payment Methods at Golf Online Betting Sites

The best golf online betting sites offer a range of payment options on the cashier page, so you should have no problem finding one to suit. Here’s a roundup of some of the most common banking options, along with a quick run down of their pros and cons for bettors.

payment card icon
Debit Cards

Offering secure, instant deposits that will see you qualify for most bonuses, debit cards are top of the pile among online betting site banking options. A potential drawback arises from payout times, which can be up to five or six days at sites without Visa Direct or Mastercard Send capabilities.

Payment Icon
e-wallets

With e-wallets like PayPal and Payz, you can deposit and withdraw at betting sites without sharing financial details like card numbers. You’ll also enjoy some of the fastest payout times of all banking options. Just be sure to read bonus T&Cs carefully to confirm e-wallets aren’t excluded, as Neteller and Skrill frequently are.

Trustly Logo
Trustly

Trustly uses Open Banking technology to allow punters to deposit at online golf betting sites directly from their bank. You won’t need to open an account, and high transaction limits make the service a good pick for high rollers. Trustly offers fast payouts and usually qualifies for golf betting bonuses, too, so there’s lots to like.

Paysafecard Logo
Paysafecard

Paysafecard is a prepaid voucher that you can buy from physical shops. Each voucher has a unique code, which you enter on the bookie’s deposit page to transfer your funds. Using Paysafecard is quick and easy, but it is often excluded from bonuses. You also can’t withdraw winnings back to the voucher.

Pay By Phone Logo
Pay by Mobile

Pay by Mobile services like Boku and Payforit allow you to charge deposits to your betting account to your mobile phone bill. Transaction limits apply to these services and they rarely qualify for bonuses, nor do they work for payouts. Nonetheless, they can be a convenient deposit method if you fancy a quick bet.

Astropay Logo
AstroPay

A newer payment method to hit the block, AstroPay is an e-wallet with some fantastic additional features. Of particular note is the ability to generate virtual prepaid cards — just like Paysafecard, that means bettors can make sportsbook deposits without ever revealing their banking information. In addition, you can make fast withdrawals to AstroPay, putting it squarely ahead of rival prepaid card services.

Other Sports

Other Sports at Golf Betting Sites

Golf betting sites don’t just take wagers on the action on the fairways and greens, but also on a range of other top sports. We’ve rounded up three of the most popular below, so you can get an idea of what’s on offer. Tennis

Events like the ATP and WTP world tours mean that tennis betting markets are available all year round. However, excitement reaches fever pitch when Wimbledon or the Australian, French or US Open roll around. These Grand Slams are the tennis equivalent of the Golf Majors, so they’re a great time to pick up extra bonuses.

Football

The beautiful game needs little introduction, and you can find football betting markets at all of our featured bookies. There’s Premier League action to look forward to, of course, though football leagues and tournaments like Italy’s Serie A, the UEFA Champions League and the Copa América ensure there are chances to enjoy a flutter on the footie right throughout the year.

Rugby

Another sport to serve up year-round betting options at our recommended bookies is rugby. From the Gallagher Premiership and the United Rugby Championships to the Six Nations and the World Cup, there’s no shortage of rugby events to bet on. As with other sports, the best bookies up the excitement with rugby bonus offers for big-ticket games and tourneys.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of bets can I place on golf?

There are loads of different types of bets to place on golf at our recommended sportsbooks. Picking an outright winner of a round or tournament is a good place to start, but each-ways and place bets are popular too. More adventurous bets include head-to-head match-ups, hole-by-hole betting, to make the cut, and a variety of prop bets.

Are golf betting sites safe?

Yes. Just make sure that you only use licensed betting sites, regulated by governing bodies, such as the UK Gambling Commission. Licensed sites have protection measures such as industry standard data encryption to keep your account safe and secure. Of course, we only recommend licensed sportsbooks, so you can rest easy when you choose one of our featured betting sites.

Should I follow golf betting tips?

Golf betting tips can provide handy insights, but they can’t guarantee you a winning bet. We’d advise against blindly following predictions you find online, but suggest building up your knowledge of the sport with your own research. This means you’ll understand what to look out for to make the most educated bets on golf.

How do I deposit at golf betting sites?

The best golf betting sites offer a range of banking options for both deposits and withdrawals. Whether you want to deposit with your debit card, pay by phone bill, or you’d prefer a betting site that accepts PayPal, making a deposit is easy. All you need to do is head to the cashier, select your preferred payment method, enter your chosen amount and hit confirm. Remember that there could be different deposit and withdrawal limits and processing times for different banking options.

What’s the difference between stroke play and match play?

In stroke play, the tournament winner is the player who took the least strokes to complete the course. Match play events work on a hole-by-hole basis, where players earn points or progress to the next round when they outperform their opponents on each hole. This means that, in stroke play, golfers are competing against every player on the course, whereas match play is based on individual matchups.

Can I place accumulator bets on golf?

Yes. With plenty of markets available for all the top golf tournaments, you won’t have any trouble filling up your golf betting accumulator slip. Just remember that the more golf bets you add, the higher the odds, so choose your selections wisely.

Which golf betting site has the best odds?

The best betting sites all offer similar odds — they have to do this to remain competitive. And while you may find small discrepancies between sites, these prices are often quickly balanced out by the bookies.

The good news? That means you don’t need to worry about competitive odds when picking between golf betting sites. Instead, you should base the decision on your needs and preferences as a bettor. To find the perfect site, just head to our comparison list at the top of the page. From there, you can sign up and claim a welcome bonus, or click through to our in-depth reviews if you’d like to know more.

Can you place in-play bets on golf?

Yes. All the best golf betting sites let you place bets on in-play golfing events. Simply navigate to the in-play section of the sportsbook and you’ll find a range of live odds to bet on. Looking for a fantastic golf betting site with live betting? Browse our comparison list at the top of the page.

Which is the best app for betting on golf?

There’s no objective answer — it depends on your needs and preferences. With that said, some of the best golf betting sites with mobile apps include bet365, Coral, 10bet, Unibet, Parimatch, and Betfair.
