Read Our Reviews
If you want to start betting on Serie A, the first thing you need to do is choose the best bookie for you. Luckily for you, our experts have scoured the web to find the best betting sites and made up-to-the-minute reviews that make it easy for you to compare their best offers before signing up. We’ve also created dedicated betting guides for many of our recommended bookies, so you can check out their sportsbooks, betting markets and promotions before deciding which one suits you the most.
Once you’ve decided which bookie or welcome bonus is for you, the next thing to do is sign up to a site by making an account. You’ll need to complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) check, just to verify you are who you say you are. This may require you to provide a form of identification like a passport or recent utility bill. But once that’s done you’re nearly ready to go.
Claim Your Bonus
The final step before you can start placing some bets is to claim your bonus. Whether you’ve gone for a free bet, matched deposit or enhanced odds offer, you may have to do something to activate your offer like make a deposit of a certain amount or enter a promo code. Once you’ve done this, you’re all ready to place that first bet.
Place Your Bets
You’re now ready to make your selections, add them to your betslip and click that place bet button. If you’d like to find out a bit more about how each betting market works or how to make the most informed decisions when betting, read on to see our guide on the most popular markets and our best Serie A betting tips.
Betting Options
What Serie A Markets Can I Bet On?
Match Result
The match result market is one of the most straightforward betting markets and a good place to get started if you’re new to football betting. It’s as simple as it sounds: all you have to do is choose whether you think the match result will be a home win, away win or draw. In the last five Serie A seasons combined, the home side has won 43.6% of all games, with the away side winning 32.8% of the time and 23.6% of the games ending in draws.
Both Teams to Score
Another popular choice among Serie A punters is the both teams to score market is fairly self-explanatory. If you fancy both teams to get on the scoresheet you can back ‘yes’, and if you think at least one of the match’s teams will fail to score you can back ‘no’. Over the last five Serie A campaigns, both teams have scored in 56.2% of games. The 2019/20 season saw the most games in which both teams scored at 62%, whilst the 2017/18 season witnessed the fewest games in which both teams got on the scoresheet at just 49% of all matches.
Over/Under Goals
The over/under goals market is a firm favourite particularly among those who like an acca. This market is all about how many goals are scored in total in a game. For instance, if you think there’ll be three or more goals scored in a match, then you’d select over 2.5 goals. Think there’ll be under four goals scored? Then you’d go for an under 3.5 goals bet. There has been an average of 2.88 goals per game, and over 2.5 goals in 56.4% of Serie A’s matches in the last five years. However, despite a recent increase in goals per game over the last couple seasons — with seasonal averages of over 3 goals per game in both the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons — the goals have dried up somewhat in Serie A this year, with only 2.55 goals per match.
Popular Goalscorer Markets
Predicting a correct goalscorer is another exciting market to bet on, particularly if you’re tuning in to watch a big Serie A clash. You can back goalscorers in a number of different ways, such as a player to score the first goal, last goal or to score anytime in the game. It’s also possible to back a player to score twice or a hat trick. The odds for these markets are often very high and can offer large returns, but bear in mind that they’re high for a reason and it’s usually very difficult to pick a correct goalscorer and land one of these bets.
Outright Betting
Outright betting is another great way to enjoy Serie A. Simply make your pick of who you think will win the Scudetto, follow their results over the course of the season with our Serie A winner odds tracker, and hopefully see them crowned as champions. Juventus are the league’s most successful side having won the title no less than 36 times, whilst both Milan clubs, Inter and AC, have won the Scudetto on 19 occasions. Unfortunately, the 2022/23 season seems to be all but wrapped up, with Napoli running away with it at the top of the table, but any one of five teams — Inter Milan, Roma, AC Milan, Lazio and Atalanta — could finish runners-up.
Roma were the last team other than Juventus, Inter and AC Milan to win the Scudetto, doing so in 2001, but Napoli look set to buck the trend this season.
Serie A Betting Tips
Make an Informed Bet by Following Our Serie A Betting Advice
Check the Form
Researching how a team has been playing in the run-up to a game you’re going to bet on is the best way to ensure you place the most informed bets. Get familiar with their form – are they on a winning streak? What kind of opponent do they usually do well against? Do they enjoy home comforts or love an away day? Take all this into account before making a selection and adding it to your betslip.
Look Ahead
As well as checking the form and knowing how a team’s played in the past, it’s just as important to keep an eye on what lies ahead. Teams that are playing in multiple competitions, whether that may be the Coppa Italia or a continental cup competition like the Champions League, may rest players and play a weakened line-up for their league games to ensure their best players are fresh for a big upcoming game. One way to avoid betting on a weakened side is to wait until the teams are announced. If you can’t wait until then, keep an eye on the manager’s comments in the lead-up to the game as they may reveal some information about their team selection.
Embrace the Stats
Love them or hate them, football stats are everywhere now and they’re a big part of the game. As such, it would make sense to use them to make sure you’re making the most informed bets possible. Stats can be really helpful for all sorts of markets but are particularly useful when betting on goal markets. As the Serie A season goes on, you can use stats like the average number of goals per game and average goals scored in each half to help you identify which teams regularly succeed in particular markets. For instance, Atalanta are renowned for their open playing style and prolific goalscoring and their games have averaged over three goals in each of the last three seasons, peaking in the 2019/20 season at an incredible 3.84 goals per game. This year, however, Napoli and AC Milan are scoring the most goals.
In the 1993/94 season, AC Milan won the Serie A title with just 34 goals under the stewardship of Fabio Capello.
Free Bets
Free bets are probably the most common offer you’ll come across when signing up to a new betting site. Bookies will offer you a free bet of a set amount when you sign up, make a deposit and then make a qualifying bet. Like most bonuses, there are usually some restrictions that come with free bets so make sure you’ve read the fine print before claiming an offer. You’ll commonly find that there are limits on payouts, restrictions on which markets you can use free bets on, and limits on the amount of time you have to use a free bet once claimed.
New Customer Offer New players only. Min $/€/£ 10 qualifying bets, stake not returned. Free bet - one-time stake of $/€/£ 200, min odds 1.5, stake not returned. 1X wager the winnings. Withdrawal requests voids all active/pending bonuses. Full Terms Apply 18+. Full T&Cs apply. Please gamble responsibly. GambleAware.org
Serie A Bonuses
Add Some Extra Funds to Your Bankroll with a Serie A Bonus
Matched Deposit
Matched deposit bonuses can potentially be very rewarding for new customers. A bookie may offer to match your first deposit up to a certain amount by, say, 100% in free bets to use on its site. For instance, if you deposited £50 and claimed a 100% matched deposit bonus, you’d then be credited another £50 in free bets. The downside to this type of offer is that there are often wagering requirements attached to them, which mean that you’d have to play through the value of your deposit many times before being able to make a withdrawal of any winnings. Always make sure you’ve read the terms and conditions of any offer before signing up and depositing any money.
New Customer Offer New bettors; Code SPORT; Wager deposit & bonus 8x; Max qualifying bet stake=initial bonus; Valid 60 days; Min odds, bet and payment method exclusions apply; T&C apply; 18+ 18+. Full T&Cs apply. Please gamble responsibly. GambleAware.org
No Deposit
No deposit bonuses are less common than other welcome offers but can be an attractive option for new players who want to get a feel for sports betting without risking any of their own cash. With this type of offer, new customers are given a free bet just for signing up and making an account. There are likely to be a number of different restrictions like wagering requirements, max winnings limits and time limits with no deposit bonuses so, as always, ensure you’re familiar with the conditions of an offer as it may not be quite as attractive as it first seems!
Live Serie A Betting
Bet On the Action as It Happens with a Live Betting Site
All of the best Serie A bookies now offer live in-play betting on top-flight Italian matches and it’s no surprise why. Live betting is one of the most exciting ways you can wager on football matches and it offers a number of unique advantages and features that you can’t get when placing a pre-match bet. Live Serie A betting sites allow you to place and cash out bets during the action. This means you can watch a game, see how things are going and use that to inform your betting – whether you want to back a team to win, player to score or cash out an existing bet before it’s too late! There are also some markets that are exclusive to in-play betting that you won’t find in the pre-match odds, like being able to back a game’s next goalscorer.
Mobile Betting
Bet On the Move with a Serie A Mobile Betting Site
There’s never been a better time to bet from your mobile device. Many of the top betting sites now have native iOS and Android apps or fully-optimised mobile sites that allow you to bet anytime and anywhere, all from the palm of your hand. The best part about mobile betting is that you won’t have to compromise on any of your favourite features like in-play betting or live streaming, as many mobile sites now have full support for these perks.
Debit cards are amongst the most popular payment methods on betting sites. Cards like Maestro, Mastercard and Visa Debit are widely accepted and offer punters a convenient and secure way to deposit and withdraw funds from their betting account. Deposits made using debit cards usually appear instantly, however one potential downside with this payment method is that withdrawals may take up to five days to appear in your bank account. This time differs from site to site and also depends on who you bank with.
E-wallets
E-wallets are an increasingly popular payment method amongst online bettors and are favoured for their security and ease of use. Services like Paypal, Skrill and Neteller allow punters to make swift transactions from their desktop or mobile device without having to share any of their bank details with the site. Another advantage of using an e-wallet is that transaction times are often much faster than other payment methods. Deposits are usually instant and withdrawals often take less than 24 hours. One drawback to e-wallets is that some sites may require a slightly higher minimum transaction fee of around £10-20. Some e-wallets also may be excluded from certain offers and bonuses, so always check the terms and conditions before making a deposit.
Prepaid Cards
Prepaid cards offer punters a simple and safe way to deposit money into their betting site accounts. Cards like Paysafecard can be bought in-person or online in varying amounts ranging from £10 to £100 and can then be used to deposit money into an online betting account without having to share any bank details. One downside to prepaid cards is that they usually can’t be used to make withdrawals, so you would have to add another payment method should you want to take money out of your betting account.

Absolutely! Some of our top rated Serie A bookies offer live streaming of Italy’s top flight. Live streams are also often free, but you may have to have either a funded account or to have placed a bet within the last 24 hours to view any streams.
Of course! Accumulators are bets that are made up of multiple selections. You can make an acca by adding more than one selection to your betslip. Most bookmakers will allow you to add selections from different markets, games, leagues and even different sports, but remember the more selections you add to an accumulator, the less likely it is to come off.
